If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Fun playable golf course!
Tees, fairways and greens very good ! Dormant rough a little rough! Lucky to make a hole in one! No special recognition from the pro shop! Always a fun course to play!
Person in pro shop statement "you better have a mask net time you come in" No please or thanks, just "you Better"!! will not be back.
good green grass on tee boxes and fairways...
a water hazard on almost every hole...
putting greens in very good shape though greens are hard...need to play short of the hole and have the ball bounce up, if you land near the pin the ball will bounce off the back...
Fun round
First time playing Indian Springs. Wonderful course. Difficult but playable, not tricked upped. Very nice staff. Mike the starter gave us a course overview which we appreciated. The computers on the carts had more detail than any I've every seen including music if you want. 19th hole is awesome. Take in the rock and roll theme.
Good conditions, fun course
Not exceedingly difficult but very fun. Almost always in superb condition. Pace of play was good
Great course that just needs a little.....
Course conditions pretty good. Not a difficult course. Very friendly staff. Only down sides are there was no beverage cart and just a water jug and cups at the turn (at least throw a couple bottles of water in the cart cooler that already had ice), just two porta Johns on the whole course at the turn and course requires some weird street crossings at stoplights. Just a bit overpriced.
Great Greens - overpriced
Paid the young lad 10$ to clean my clubs and found out he hadn’t done them. Won’t be back!
A fun day on a pretty good course
Greens very fast but consistent. A bit hard for shots off tight lies or from rough, as should be. Fairways a bit thin but pretty average for winter.
Course appears to be maintained well. An enjoyable round. Will return.
This course has unique features including adorable statues.
Love this course. Challenging but if good shots made very playable for average golfer. Like the green speed
This course was a big surprise me in a good way. Nice layout in very good shape. The pay for a bucket of balls and the driving range were not the highest points but the course was. Give it a try if you get a good price. It’s not worth more than 100 dollars and it’s a great deal at under 70.
