PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

Practice area still closed and done remaining damage from the flooding. Still fun and worth the money if you book the twilight rate. Teed off at 1 and finished.

Front nine ok, but you pay for the last 5 holes. Greens are very difficult, more so because they are rock hard. Disappointed that no mention of the practice area being closed.

Driving range/ practice areas closed due to storm damage. First 5 or so holes in bad condition due to same. Call before booking to check on condition of both.

The green are new and impossible. There is way too much water and way to many sandtraps. No fun at all!

The course was excellent condition and challenging for us. The play was extremely slow as carts had to stay on path which slowed the game down substantially. We were always waiting to take a shot for the group in front of us.

My only real grpe was that the range was closed due to a storm two weeks earlier. Just a small disappointment, but I like a bit of a warm up prior to playing.

An underrated course among the 5 PGA west courses. Quite challenging from the black tee though. Very good pace of play. Condition not as good since the course is still recovering from the rain damage. Would definitely play it again.

Unfortunately parts of the course still had flooding and therefore was cart path only. I have always enjoyed this track and look forward to returning when conditions are better.

Course is in great condition given that the other course is submerged under water from recent storms. Was all cart path only but easy to follow. The course plays true to a Pete Dye course - relatively short but extremely difficult around the greens. Super interesting course and would highly recommend.

Staff is awesome and welcoming. Unfortunately it rained the week before so cart path only, range was closed, and part of the 18th fairway was flooded. This is definitely not a course you would wanna play when you're not warmed up. I'm also surprised there's not a screen showing yardages on the cart but it did have a nice speaker to play music. The course itself was links style and has a lot of rolling hills and undulations with false fronts on the greens. For the money I'd go with other courses that offer a little more amenities and don't have problems with draining rain water.

The layout of the course was wonderful, but the fairways were a little beaten up, but not really a problem. However, the greens were simply too difficult for the average golfer. Good shots to the green were not rewarded at all.

I lived on this course for 14 years but just went back after moving away and brought my golf buds with me. One hole after another kicked out A..es! I went through a love hate relationship with the Dunes course over the years but honestly it's fun in a torturous golf sort of way and I'm loving it again. Don't miss this gem! By the way we played Nicholas Tournament at PGA west the next day and what a relief. Everyone says Nic is harder but all our scores say the challenge at PGA West is TPC Stadium and The Dunes course!

Green complex renovation resulted in firm greens. I hit a high ball and only had to fix 2 shallow ball marks. Forces you to club down to allow roll out, which is tricky because of the false fronts. Until these greens mature, this will be a difficult test for anyone above a 10 handicap.
