PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

Have played here many times in the past. Always thought the course was a challenge but fair. Did not like the recent changes to the course. Arrived to find out there was no GPS on the cart. The driving range was hitting off the mat and the golf balls were coated in sand. The greens were changed to the original design which meant larger and the shoulders were rounded. The greens would not hold a shot and rolled off. Not sure who the course is designed for but it obviously was not

Typical Pete Dye course, visually intimidating tee shots , runoffs on greens and perfectly placed bunkers.

I have played couple of the PGA west courses before I would say that this one was special price. Even though the undulated dream possible sometimes, it couldn’t have been more beautiful and fun. The views of the golf course from any hole are spectacular and the mountain, La Quinta Cove backdrop is breathtaking. It’s a fantastic course in fantastic condition and even if you are not a low handicap golfer, you are sure to have a blast and enjoy pristine condition of this fabulous course.

Always enjoy playing the Pete Dye Dunes course. I want to take a moment and comment on the staff. From the start we arrived we were greeted with friendly bag attendants to great pro shop staff, starter and course marshal. Had drinks and appetizers to finish the day with a great view of the golf course, can’t beat the weather either, Thanks to a great team effort at your course. Indio

The greens are tough. You need to be accurate or your ball ran off the greens. The starter let us on early and we finished our round in less than 4 hours

This course was tough! Lots of water to negotiate and very difficult rough areas.

If you’re looking for a resort type course, that’s fun to play with family or friends. This one isn’t for you.

It’s a Pete dye course. Tough as nails but fair if you choose the right tees for you. Decent layout, needs a few more weeks to mature.

The course was beautiful. Great condition and layout.

New greens - they will be amazing when they age. Back nine is amazing- great holes - every one.

Rangers need to do their job and move folks along.

Starter was a miserable. Course was "Cart Path Only", which made it play very slow. Was over priced for the conditions. Tried to grab a bite to eat after, but was never approached by a server so we left. Will not be back.

Challenging, you need to accurate and lucky.

New greens made play challenging as it was difficult to hold a green.

Downside: I left a wedge on the front nine and told the player's assistants on the course by the 11th hole. It was never "found" . I contacted the proshop over 3 days and no luck.
