PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course

After serious flooding in December much of the course has still in disrepair. New greens need time to grow in .

Driving range is closed .Disappointing. Better course conditions can be found elsewhere for the green fees they charge.

Course layout is OK and as a lower single digit handicap I found it acceptable to play except for the greens. False fronts, roll offs, and the undulations on the green are too extreme. This would be OK except for the fact the greens were like hitting into a formica table top and you can’t run it in due to bunkering etc. It’s a target golf course. My wife REALLY disliked it. Nothing a couple million dollars and a D10 dozer couldn’t fix I suppose. Range/practice area was closed and there was no mention of that on Golf Now. I nicely asked to have my money refunded because of that and was told, “Oh well, too bad.” Overall I would not recommend this course. Go elsewhere. We won’t be back.

Very disappointed. Pay all that money and the carts didn’t even have GPS. No club cleaners on the carts and the ball washers didn’t work so well. Probably won’t play any of the PGA West courses available to me after that experience.

In defence of the course there had been a small tournament that caused a 30 minute delay. There was a wait at every hole and we were not notified that the range was closed. We booked through Golf Now maybe that’s why we were not informed of the range being closed. I gave a poor review but I think maybe it was just a bad day and I would love to try it again. Thanks for asking my opinion.

We were so excited to play the course. Figured if we started at 1 pm we could finish before dark.

The pace was very slow and we felt the ranger did not help speed the pace along.

Because of this we were only able to complete 16 holes. We were not happy about this.

At the end, the bag boys really rushed us out of there with not concern about how the car was loaded.

Finally, the starter Tim, was amazing. What a pleasure!!

I’ve played PGA courses and have been impressed by the quality. This was not that. There were no warmup facilities- no range or chipping area. Only a crowded practice green. Normal amenities for a venue and fee like this. The club house check in said they had some water issues a number of weeks ago and quickly walked away. The course condition was average. The greens - though challenging- were baked and hard. The bunkers were inconsistent- mostly hard - with little sand depth. I’m guessing I am not the only person feeling like I over paid for the PGA experience.

Practice area still closed and done remaining damage from the flooding. Still fun and worth the money if you book the twilight rate. Teed off at 1 and finished.

Front nine ok, but you pay for the last 5 holes. Greens are very difficult, more so because they are rock hard. Disappointed that no mention of the practice area being closed.

Driving range/ practice areas closed due to storm damage. First 5 or so holes in bad condition due to same. Call before booking to check on condition of both.

The green are new and impossible. There is way too much water and way to many sandtraps. No fun at all!

The course was excellent condition and challenging for us. The play was extremely slow as carts had to stay on path which slowed the game down substantially. We were always waiting to take a shot for the group in front of us.

My only real grpe was that the range was closed due to a storm two weeks earlier. Just a small disappointment, but I like a bit of a warm up prior to playing.

An underrated course among the 5 PGA west courses. Quite challenging from the black tee though. Very good pace of play. Condition not as good since the course is still recovering from the rain damage. Would definitely play it again.

Unfortunately parts of the course still had flooding and therefore was cart path only. I have always enjoyed this track and look forward to returning when conditions are better.

Course is in great condition given that the other course is submerged under water from recent storms. Was all cart path only but easy to follow. The course plays true to a Pete Dye course - relatively short but extremely difficult around the greens. Super interesting course and would highly recommend.
