Really nice course, friendly staff, beautiful views

For me, this was an epic golf experience. Challenging course, lots of hazards and water, but a beautiful course layout. Greens very fast and challenging for even the best players, so plenty for me to handle. Friendly staff everywhere, and a beautiful clubhouse and practice facilities.

First, make sure directions to the course are clear. We were directed to pga west and found it frustrating to hear”it’s a common occurrence “ Next, the pace of play was slow. And there was little communication about this.

Finally, the staff (particularly Jim the manager) was helpful.

First Out; Single

Too bad I couldn't get paired up with partners. Played as a single. My tee time was 6:27 AM. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE AT THAT TIME!!! I played directly into the sun for the first 6 holes. Best to wait at least until 7:30 to play this course... or on a cloudy day. The course is obviously drenched overnight. Your cart will spray standing water from that early in the AM. Played all 18 holes in 2hrs and 30minutes. I would not recommend that you walk this course in that some greens to the next tee can be the distance of a Par 4.

Now that I've got the baggage out of the way, the course played fairly even though the greens were very firm. Should not bother you if you can put spin on your approach shots. Better to play with an extra club on your approach in that most greens are elevated. I played the Silver tees and should have played white. Also take some time to view your surroundings if you can take your mind off the game during the round.

Nice course, lousy service.

We have played 5 courses this week and had wonderful service at all but this one. My son bought new clubs but he didn’t buy a driver so we’ve been borrowing one at each course. Until we got here where they told us we had rent a full set of clubs for $80. We said we’d be happy to rent a driver but they wouldn’t do that. Only course all week. The course itself is great and in great shape. I prefer the mountain course but the Dunes is still a very nice course.

Nice Resort Course

A little hard to find and not a true linx course but well maintained and staff was mostly accommodating. I prefer a desert course but this course was challenging enough with a little water danger so we all enjoyed our round. Only improvement would be to speed up the greens and make them more receptive. Beverage cart person said she would be back one more time and we told her we would order drinks on the back but she never showed up again?

Great course. Very challenging with a lot of forced carry over water. The greens are very difficult to hit and repel all shots that are off line. Play the correct tees.

Disappointed!

Course condition was not what you would expect for a course of this supposed caliber.Greens were cut inconsistently and the course was not well manicured at all.Has really gone down hill from a few years ago.Would not come back to play this course. There are far better values elsewhere

We played the dunes course for the second time last week. We loved the course and the layout was great. I’m basically a beginner , having only started playing four years ago but felt the course was fair, although difficult for me.
