Located less than an hour east of San Francisco, the Course at Wente Vineyards sprawls across the lush, rolling hills of Livermore Valley. Greg Norman carefully crafted the golf course, creating one of northern California's most challenging layouts. The course incorporates three different landscapes: woodlands, grassy meadows, and mature vineyards. All throughout the golf course though, golfers will be faced with dramatic elevation changes that cause tricky uneven lies but that also means there are panoramic views to be enjoyed on almost every hole. The fairways and landing areas are narrow and require good club management. The prevailing winds add another challenging element to the course. The Course at Wente Vineyards' back nine holes are more demanding with the par 3s being especially memorable. It is a tough but fair round that will reward proper club selection and strategy.

Customer service an issue

Course is in fantastic condition but the customer service issues there are the problem. Employees inside and out act like they would rather be anywhere else but there. Just a poor reflection on a beautiful course and I now remember why I don’t return. In the golf course business it’s all about the customer experience and they don’t have it there- yet.

Rude staff

I called the clubhouse 1/2 hour before my tee time to let them know I would be late and would start on 2nd hole. when I got to 1st tee box a check in man asked me with a condescending voice “do you have a tee time?” as if I tried to snick in !

When I got to 2nd hole to find out they let someone else to take my spot and we had to play 5-some .

Nice course but too much “monitoring”

One of my favorites courses but a little annoyed with the tracking and monitoring of the golf cart & cell phone..

I got a warning messages on using cell phone while driving multiple times even when I didn’t use it. The area where carts are not allowed should be on an honor system and not monitored for this caliber of golf course.

Best golf course

It was the best weather to play at the vineyards. The courses had many bunkers, but fewer in the back nine which was great. It had the best fairways to play your woods. Definitely coming to play more pars!

Absolutely amazing course

This is the most beautiful and interesting course I have ever played. The layout is so varied, and teeing off among the vines is magical. The pretty extreme elevation changes keep things really challenging and novel for every single hole.

The staff is alright...some were not the friendliest, including the Course Marshall who was unfriendly right from the get-go. It's an expensive course, and by and large it felt like a luxurious golf experience. The Grill had great food and views, and their own Wines are inexpensive but really good.

Wonderful course except the carts are set that you can’t leave the assigned hole to use the rest room without having to back track completely on the cart path, have you seen the back 9? Tried to cut across 16 to use restroom- nightmare
