The Course at Wente Vineyards

Just not sure that it’s worth $147. Conditions are no better than Poppy Ridge but the price is significantly higher.

Great track. Loved all the elevation changes and views. Very challenging with very fast greens. I will definitely play it again very soon.

Wonderful lush green fairways and beautiful sand in the bunkers. Great pace of play and not crammed tee times. The greens will challenge you.

This is a must play for any Bay Area golfer. The course is in a great locale with vineyards lining the course. The course is in impeccable shape with very few patches of any dead grass. Carts have GPS and they follow Covid Protocols to the T. The layout is fun and forgiving enough to enjoy and be challenged.

Only downside is there was no marshall and the pace was over 4 hours starting in the afternoon. Like many courses 20+ handicaps routinely hit from the back tees which slows things down. I am not a great golfer but I was hitting it farther with my 3 wood than most people hitting from backs were. hitting with their driver. I think with a Marshall on duty this would make things better. Also could suggest at the first tee that if you are not below a certain handicap to not hit from the back tees.

Outside of that more than pleased with the outing and look forward to coming back soon.

Played my second round in 2 days and I have to say, Wente is just kind of ok. The setting is certainly spectacular, but when compared with the price and marginal hospitality, I didn't find it to be all that great of a value or that enjoyable of a time. I think reviewers get carried away by the setting, winding through the vineyards, and overlook the average golf. If you pay that much where I'm from, you don't just get a nice course, it's pristine; it's not just good conditions, it's manicured with not a blade of grass out of place. Not so at Wente. I had numerous very poor lies right in the fairway, and of course the greens are pock marked with ball marks. The course is gimmicky, doesn't reward good shots and I didn't find the practice area to be very accessible or of championship quality. Combined with how they look down on golfnow players, it just wasn't all that memorable or enjoyable as far as the golf itself goes. Worth seeing once I'm sure, but don't see it being worth a return trip. Not worth it as a golfnow player (unless the round is free or close to it) and not worth what they charge.

Wente's ok. The vistas are definitely first rate and spectacular, but the course is pretty gimicky and the staff is super uptight. They had lots of hole this their tee sheet and wouldn't let me off early as a single. It's definitely not worth what they charge. One of those places you might play once with your babe to enjoy the scenery and the novelty of playing through a vineyard. Not the type of place I would place regularly though

Got out at 8:30am as a single with a couple of foursomes ahead of me. Anxiety inducing, right? Nope. After a couple holes I didn’t see them. The elevation changes are beautiful and the course layout encourages you to be aggressive and score. Super fun. Also, there are vineyards instead of houses (unlike most Bay Area courses) which made the course just outstanding in my opinion. All COVID protocols were in place and the staff is on their game. Incredibly relaxed experience, and I played one of my best rounds in recent memory. Can’t wait to book my next round here.

I have played here a number of times and the greens were in phenomenal shape and everything rolled true except the one I lipped out on 18. :)

Great layout with spacious course winding thru the beautiful vineyards and hills. Elevated tees and greens on almost every hole add interest/challenge for scoring as well as some great views. Course in great shape. Greens are fast but true and fair. Will definitely be back.

My second time here, just an awesome place to play. The course is in mint condition and the greens are fast! Staff is friendly, carts have GPS, truly an amazing course.

Beautiful course. Well maintained and a good challenge for all levels. Views are spectacular.

Course was in immaculate condition with the cold nights and little rain. From tee to green on every hole, just pristine. Played in a foursome and pace of play was quick. During COVID-19, only the grille next to the pro shop was open without a course cart or the shack after the 9th. Passing a temperature check is mandatory to check in. Can’t wait to play Wente again.

Course in best shape this year. Cooler weather and some rain have greatly improved the fairways. Greens are very fast..beware.

A beautiful course tucked in the breathtaking vineyards of Livermore. This place has it all; great pace of play, beautiful conditions, and fun challenging holes. The greens run fast but true and the drive up “Lombard Street” is a real pleasure.

The blind approach to 12 is tough but rewarding when you use the topography to aid your shot. I simply cannot recommend this course more. The elevation changes and degrees of pitch coupled with native areas between the tee box and the fairway is very well done.

Bravo to the staff for keeping tee times spaced well. There were several holes where we felt as if the entire course was ours alone. This was a relaxing round where the day melted away and the troubles of the world paused for a few hours. I can’t wait to return to try their grill which looked awesome but sadly was closed by the time we finished.

Wente golf course is one of the best courses in the area. Condition was excellent for time of year. Pace of play was good and steady. Course lay out is challenging and scenic.
