The Course at Wente Vineyards

Beautiful views. Greens in great condition. Amazing views were at times distracting...not a bad thing though.

A very nice course, great layout, fairly good shape. Driving range is way up the hill, so give yourself extra time if you plan to warm up. The snack shack at the turn was closed which is unfortunate since it was a hot day and no other water was available on the course. Plus there wasn't a beverage cart. Greens were recently sanded, but not that bad. Not a marshal in sight. The loud "scarecrow" bird noises from a nearby vineyard loudspeaker are very annoying. The drive up "Lombard Street" to hole #10 is quite fun. Read/copy/printout the helpful hole tips from their website before your round. Apparently wind is often a factor on this course, but not the day we played.

The only non-five star rating was completely impacted my COVID-19. Even with the lack of open food or beverage stations the staff was very friendly and professional. Also they deserve a 20 star rating in how they protect staff and golfers. Temperature taken, promoting distance of, supporting masks, and they do an outstanding job cleaning and sanitizing golf carts and restrooms. Job well done to the team of Wente Golf Properties.

first off, amazing staff, greeting you in the parking lot with a cart ready to go, check is temp check/covid form fill out, which I commend them for doing. Starter is an energetic humorous guy. Day was smoking hot and the sky was hazy from the fires, but they really made the best of an interesting time and day. Complimentary ice cold water bottles were so appreciated as well.

The course: greens will ruin your day with how fast they are haha. Read them well as they are super firm and can get away from you at one roll too many. Beautiful , challenging lay out and I hope to return soon. The bunkers are pure as well (fortunately didnt get to experience one this round) hoping to return in much less time than the previous. Im a single digit handicap and golf all over, and this place is one of the best in the area hands down. From tee to green best. Thanks for the opportunity

6:48AM Tee time. "The early bird gets the worm". Boy did I get the worm. Finished 18 holes in just under 2 hours. . Yes, I said 2 hours. the guys I was paired up with were late to the tee so I went off by myself. Did not beat my personal best round on this day but being able to fly through holes without waiting on people made this round one of the best I've played in a long long time.

Rough was high, but that wasn’t a problem. Sand traps are hard as rocks. That is a problem. Paying almost a hundred dollars and not being allowed to finish was a big problem. Teed off right around 3:30 and was informed on the first tee that the carts had to be be back by 7. Our foursome moved quickly, but There was no way we could finish the round in 3 1/2 hours, so, although there was sufficient sunlight to finish, we weren’t allowed to. I like the course, but I could have played elsewhere for less and actually finished. Covid protocol was excellent.

The Course at Wente Vineyard is a challenging but fun course to play. The location and amenities of the course and restaurant is fantastic. Would like to see more HOT DEAL TEE TIMES available throughout the week. Overall the course was in great shape. Will come again.

The staff did a great job of sanitizing and taking the necessary precautions. Driving range wasn’t open so that was a bummer, especially because it was the one time I got to the course early enough for a proper warm up. I really like the course. One of the best in the east bay area without a doubt.

Don't understand how you dare to charge $110 for a 2:45 tee time on these unrealistic, recently sanded ,greens.
