Sunbird Golf Resort
About
The course at the Sunbird Golf Resort is a desert-style course that offers three sets of tee boxes to accommodate most skill levels. This executive length golf course has a country club-type atmosphere and offers a good round of golf. The greens are medium sized with some that are multi-tiered and narrow fairways. Bunkers and trees are also present on the course, adding some challenge since they can greatly affect shots. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. In addition to the executive course at Sunbird Golf Resort, the facility also offers a putting area and chipping green as well as a fully stocked pro shop.

Great course
I had family and friends from out of state, I played this course Monday and Tuesday Everyone had a great round of golf The course was in excellent shape and challenging enough for better players and still enjoyable for those of lesser ability Looking forward to playing SunBird again
I'll be back
My wife and I are both coming back from injuries/surgery, and wanted to ease back in not knowing if we'd even be able even finish. Golf conditions were good. Some of the greens were a little fuzzy (slow).
We'd had breakfast here two years ago with view of course, and had always wanted to come back to play here. Great breakfast and golf. We'll be back soon for both fer sure.
Greens
There was an over abundance of goose poop on some of the greens. Other than that, the course is in great shape. Good pace of play.
Getting what you pay for.
Getting what you pay for:
It seems like golf today is not like golf two years ago before the pandemic. Golf used to be an experience where you would go out, to quote a famous writer Mark Twain, a good walk spoiled. That was golf. Today you go to a golf course especially in Phoenix to overpay dearly and wait at every hole to take a shot. Sometimes up to three to four groups are waiting on one hole, it's no longer a good walk spoiled, it's a good time spoil. Golf is supposed to be a mind cleansing relaxing experience to be enjoyed with nature and your friends but has turned into a sport that isn't much fun these days. Operators and owners of course are making money but the consumer as always, is not getting what we paid for. It reminds me of going out for dinner to your favorite place and getting your favorite dish now looking like a drizzle of something that is supposed to represent the meal, served cold.
In all fairness to this course it's a nice little course although completely surrounded by houses. It can bring me to a state of peaceful relaxation if allowed. There are so many people on this course, it is a retirement community but it's overbooked to the max. I would spend my hard-earned money elsewhere it's just not that great of an experience. I only made it through nine holes I suspect the other holes were like the first nine. I couldn't take it anymore I'd leave this course to the locals.
Fun course
Love playing here in the summer for 20-25 bucks. It's a bit pricey right now, but everything is higher priced in the winter. Staff is friendly, residents are friendly, and the restaurant is cheap and has some good food. Sunbird is definitely one of my favorite executive courses in AZ.
Great retirement course
Course plays very short, but not overly easy. Great condition. Friendly staff.
Gate guard button pusher
Overall course was in good shape. Course seemed tight but was surprised as long as you kept your golf ball relatively straight. Good course to play this time of year. Pro shop staff was friendly but getting into the course you did not feel welcome the grumpy man at the gate played 20 questions with you after you already mentioned to him you had a tee time he asked are you going to golf course in a snid way . I understand that he may be trying to to his job but he just sitting there not writing liscense plates down he just seemed to have to push a button and give visitors who are spending money a hard time
