About
The golf course at the San Marcos Golf Resort boasts an impressive list of past players that includes presidents and celebrities. The golf course is nestled on a property in downtown Chandler that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Although it has a desert landscape, the course is still lush with a canal that runs through it, a lake, and plush Bermuda grass greens, the former two creating water hazards that come into play on several holes. The San Marcos Golf Resort course is challenging with each hole having at least three bunkers. The two most difficult holes on the golf course are two lengthy par 4s, the fourth and the 10th.

Narrow greens
This is a real fun course to olay. Not special, but cost is reasonable and layout is challenging enough to be fun. There are lots of trees that line the fairways snd a few that present strategic hazards on approach shots, so plan your drive accordingly.
The greens are mostly small, and well protected by bunkers, making for narrow targets. There is also a creek that comes into play on several holes.
The day i played, the bathrooms were out of order, so there were no facilities open on the back. Plan accordingly.
Really a fun place to play and an easy walk.
Post over seed Pace Decent
The course was in overall good condition, hovering the grass had been cut, but there were huge chunks of wet grass everywhere. Also,the rough had grown quite thick and deep. There is no reason for the rough to be that deep. Quite often we would have to be right on top of our golf ball before we’d find them.
The halfway shack was not open on a day that exceeded 100 degrees. The beverage cart came around infrequently, and the person working was not terribly attentive. My friend bought a couple gatorades and a couple of candy bars. They drove off without giving him the candy bars. We had to chase her down to get them.

Love this track. Course is in GREAT condition. I wish we lived closer but it is always worth the drive as the value is phenomenal
over seeding
lots of walking because of overseeding (cart path only). Pace of play is terrible. took us over four and half hour to play. Hope it will be better next time out.
Resort-Quality Course at a Great Price
We had an excellent time playing this course. The staff was friendly and attentive and course conditions were perfect. The greens and bunkers were well-maintained and the fairway conditions were perfect. We will definitely be back!
Nice, but super slow.
The course was cart path only coming off overseed. It’s a nice layout and it’s in good shape. However, pace of play was brutally slow and it took us a full five hours to complete our round.
Slow play on back
Since it was cart path only we walked and were the first ones off. We flew through the front in 1:40 min. Then in the 10th fairway these 3 people popped ip and waddled around in front of us for the next 2.5 hrs. Maybe at least try to walk fast to and from the cart. Maybe get back to your cart and drive away before putting your clubs back in the bag. Your going to need that same club in twenty yards anyways. No ranger to push the turtles.
Wrong time of year
The cart path only play was a big problem. Nice course but will never go again if cart path only is in play.

All good except never seen a beverage cart once it was 90 degrees , could have used a beer or 10 . Lol
Missing person
Everything was great , course looking in great shape coming off overseed , cart path only, only issue was no cart girl I wish they would mention that before we tee off , outside of that , everything went well , 4-hr round
Fun at San Marcos
Our group had to wait about 20 minutes past tee time due to the cart-path rule. The play was a little slow because there were a couple of walker groups ahead of us. I still don’t understand why busy courses allow them to walk and hold up play. Nonetheless we had a great time!
Was told our tee time was cancelled, still charged
I called to cancel my tee time a day in advance and a gentleman who answered the phone said we were all good. They then charged me for 4 tee times and said it was a no show, even though I took their word for it that it was cancelled. Very disappointing
