About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Very poor condition
This course was in terrible condition. Very poorly maintained. More dirt then grass. Fairways were indistinguishable from rough dirt patches.
The greens were patched-most T boxes were very rough. Out of 18 holes there were two that actually looked like a real golf course
We would highly recommend that GolfNow no longer list them. It is obvious this course was once an absolutely gorgeous golf course. It has been allowed to become delapidated
OK for the time of yr...
Hmmm.. The course was OK.. Seriously needs some H2O... The greens are hard so it all rolls of even with backspin.. Just gave to layup short.. Overall good...

Affordable golf!
Tres Rios could be in better condition, but it's pretty darn good for the money! Being one of the last few affordable courses in the area, we really can forgive the course conditions and rather appreciate the great staff, decent food and folks out having fun on a golf course that allows us to play MORE OFTEN!! Thanks, Tres Rios!!
Look elsewhere
You can do much better than this course. The greens were the only saving grace, they were quick. The holes are poorly cut and bushy, the fairways, tee blocks are like a pasture. Do yourself a favor and don’t make the mistake we did.

Bit of a drive but great price
Course was in decent shape. Fairways were grass. Off fairways, good luck! Couple of the greens were less than perfect, but for the price, I think it is a good value.

Not great
We played this course 2 years ago and was good value for money at that time.. Course has gone down hill since we were here last. Greens, tees, bunkers and fairways not in good shape. We would rather spend a few more bucks and play something more decent.

Course has died...
This course used to be a cheap, enjoyable, round of golf... now every bit of the course is terrible including the staff. Tee boxes were either dead or un-mowed. The fairway was spotty at best. And the greens were painted blue-green and had repaired spots full of sand.

The starter is very friendly and the other staff at the course that we had contact with were wonderful. The couple we golfed with were great. The pace of play was similar to other golf courses. The course is in rough condition. The fairways are extremely dry and I’m not sure what has happened with the greens but they are terrible. They are dry, patchy, and have bumps in them. Even with the great staff and inexpensive cost of the round I would not recommend this course.

Needs Work
Course is in poor condition. Greens are in rough shape and hard. Fairways are hard with not much grass on them.
I played this course two years ago and it was in much better shape then.
Pace of play was okay on the front nine but very slow on the back. Total round took almost 5 hours.

Below average.sorry but priced accordingly
I have played this course before however regret to give it an below average rating due mainly to course conditions specifically the greens were in poor shape .pace of play was ok as price for play was cheap by comparison.layout is good this course has potential but needs lots of work.

Tres Rios
Got an e mail saying they had hired a new course supernatant. Noting has changed. not one person working on the course, no water being put anywhere. . When do they ever.move some tees? Hoping to see a little improvement!!!!

Reflector Tape too much to ask??
Even with a cool and wet “winter” the course is ridiculously dry and bare. That seems to be a given so...
Can you at least put reflective tape on the flags so I can get an accurate distance??? Three flags were broken anyway. Can’t imagine that costs more than $25 to do.

Even though it was busy, the pace of play was good. It was a very good day for golf overall.

Not Worth It
Simply not worth it. It seems like a great price but you get what you pay for. Horrible customer service from Lori the GM, not promising if that's how the leadership talks to and treats customers. Horrible course management. Horrible course conditions from the tee box to the greens. I would think they have access to plenty of water with all the broken sprinklers flooding in several areas throughout the entire track but that's not the case. Don't bother making the trip. Go check out Falcon. They are the same price point, friendlier, better shape and more convenient.

Here is an update from Lori: "The winter has been cold and rainy, but we wanted to take a moment and let you know all the good things going on at the course. Tres Rios is pleased to let you know that we hired a Superintendent and he has been doing a great job in his first few weeks. The course has taken a beating with all the rain and storms in October during the overseeding process. We are working diligently every day to make the course better. The areas we are improving on is the irrigation system, each day we fix more of the leaking sprinklers and old pipes. Many of you know that I have always loved being at Tres Rios! I promise that we will keep working hard for all of you ! We will be back in the best of conditions very soon! So, in the meantime, enjoy the Happy Hour half off range balls 11am-1pm, the great rates, the amazing sub sandwiches and my wonderful staff!" We hope this will provide some information regarding the conditions. We hope to see you again in the future.
Course with great potential
Wow good layout, no houses and middle of nowhere. Obviously not well managed and very poorly maintained. Nonetheless pretty busy with high handicap players. The greens were in very poor condition and it was like putting on a worn carpet. However, with long carry off the t and well designed fairways this place could be great.

Good value, great fairways and average greens.
Pace of play was very slow. Had to wait on nearly every shot, 5.5 hrs is a long round. But I was joined up with some friendly people and the laughs were frequent and fun. The greens needed some help but overall very playable. The fairways are in excellent condition as long as you stayed on the short grass.
