About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Playing with good friends. Course condition was very poor. It got a little windy but not enough to make it a bad day. Course seems to be getting worse condition wise. .

Not what it was in past years
I played this course in past years but haven't been there for three or four years. This course has taken a turn for the worse. Fairways were splotchy at best. Some greens were diseased to the point they were not putt-able and sand traps were packed dirt. A dust devil happened to kick up and the course looked like sand storm in the middle of monsoon season. I know it's not the courses fault for the dust devil, but it does say something about the dusty condition of the course. This one won't be on my list in the future.. It's a shame too. This course has great potential with a little TLC.

Always fun everytime we come here fast greens and fairways and the staff is always friendly and takes care of us each time we have been there and that's why we keep coming back

Horrible customer service. BEWARE
I use Golf now weekly. The manager has zero idea about customer service. I came over 45 minutes to play, to try out a new course. I called before I booked and she said they were super slow. I booked it and hoped to play by myself. She had a handful of players on the course and she wanted to put everybody as a 4 some that bought the hotdeal. I go to try out new courses and if I like them I return. I like playing by myself. I am busy all week and just decompress. She refused to let me go by myself because she sold it as hot deals. She has zero clue about marketing and customer service. If you are swamped, I understand playing with others, but when you are empty it made no sense. I told her I would love to come back and play if I like the course. She should not be in a customer service business. BEWARE. there are many other places. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Good thing we are in Arizona and so many courses
Worth the money
The staff was friendly from the start course was very nice greens were good a little dust but the course was challenging for us would play this course again

Friendly staff from the moment I arrived let me n my brother in law just play as a two some greens and courses were very nice , challenging holes for us beginners

Not as good as expected.
Overall it was a good fun day golfing. Wind started up later in the game so it made it a little more challenging. The course was being worked on. Getting it ready for the spring and summer months.

Disaster
My group arrived at the course 45 minutes early. The plan was to hit a few practice balls and practice putting before teeing off. NO ! The driving range was closed because a high school class was having their golf day from 9 AM to 1 PM. Why was this not disclosed when making the tee time.?. The answer is obvious - they want your money. So we decided to putt. The practice green was like something out of horror movie. One member of the group said it looked like a Frankenstein green in that it was a patchwork of sod from somewhere else, large sections were diseased and bare dirt was showing (although they tried dying it green to blend in). We hoped it was just the practice green that was in such poor condition... we were very wrong. Of the 18, only 3 were above pitiful condition. All greens were rock hard as well. The only positive was there was not a ball mark to be found on any green !
Being that we paid in advance (no refund) we teed off. It was quite slow. Evidently beginners flock to this course for some reason. The tee boxes were also rock hard. The tee markers were a suggestion as to where to tee off. We opted for a spot where we could push the tee into the ground. Fairways were brown and hard. Good for roll... One member of the group drove the ball into the left sand trap on the 16th hole - a bit over 400 yards! Many areas of bare dirt existed and was a hazard in itself.
Also there were NO ball washers anyplace on the course.
Sand traps were completely neglected. They were either gravel traps or dust traps. Lots of weeds as well... play the ball where it lies... sucks for this course.
A nice day ruined by the course. I wish I had that day over.

Total dust bowl greens in terrible condition seems like there letting the course turn back into desert

Good rate
The fairways were a little thin but other than that the course played well. Look forward to playing again.
