About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Not great value for the money
This course could be so much better. Two things were missing which made the round frustrating. There are very few yardage markers so you must have GPS to find out yardage distances, I don't have one. There is little to no sand in the traps, in fact grass is growing in some of them. On a positive note the pace of play was slightly over 4 hours and it is situated in a location that has some very scenic views. Lots of other courses around in the same price range so I won't be returning here.
Good value
The course was in good playing condition
from tee to green. The pin placements
we’re very difficult but also challenging
Great $ deal at a good course.
If you need to improve your game or just want to play without breaking the bank, this is your place. The thing I like most about this course is there's no houses to accidentally hit on an errant shot.
This course is always well-maintained and provides just enough challenge to make it fun .
much improved
Much improved fairways and greens, great value for the cost and really enjoy the setting of the course against the Estrella foothills...kudos for the improvements made!
Getting better
Course is improving over the last year . Greens are much better tee boxes are better. Need to cover bald spots with grass in between fairways. Beer prices are still to high .
Nice but slow
The course is in good shape. It is wide open so it is very easy to find stay balls. The pace is slow as the course was packed with people. Overall, enjoyable golf and the other patrons were friendly.
Nice course for the money. Could use a beverage cart on the course. Greens were in great shape
Continues to Improve
Course is in the best shape ever. They are removing the dead trees. New flags and sticks on course and putting green. The range now has flags to aim at. Greens are in excellent shape. They have ordered Pinseekers that will be attached to the flag sticks for an accurate distance. Would like to see the white tee boxes on 3/4 holes put on the appropriate tee box that matches the score card.
Okay course
Nice little course for the money. Cart paths could use a lot of work for they pretty much dont exist, could use better directional signage for hole locations. Seems like the coure always looks like it is under some kind of construction.
Course kind of rough
I played this course because it is the cheapest in the area. I did not have my GPS watch and was disappointed to find there were absolutely no visual distance cues or aids on the fairways. No markers or distances on sprinkler heads. I did not "guess" or judge the distances very well at all. The staff was friendly and the fairways and greens were nice.
Loved it!
This coarse is what golfing in Arizona is all about. Love the views , love the terrain.
We played it last year and plan to go back. Did not have a great round but that's golf..
Great day
Enjoyed our round, played terrible but that's golf
Next time will play better.
Getting it right!
Use to play Tres quite a lot then it got really bad, from noisy carts to no drinking water on hot summer days so I quit making the drive down there. The course has always provided a challenge from the tips and with out a house in site it was the kind of golf course I like to play. With that being said I decided to try it again after a couple of good words from some fellow players that said it's getting a lot better. I played first thing in the morning and had a really good time, from the guys I got paired up with to the overall experience the management of Tres Rios is getting it right! Keep it up guys it's a daily grind, kinda like those one putts for par.Ill be back to play again soon!Enjoy Tres Rios.
Course conditions
The course is in excellent shape, best I've ever seen it.
Old School
This golf course has been there for a very long time. One of the best old school, mature courses in the valley. Don't miss this one.
Good course
Greens were in great shape! Fairways in good shape. Rough in poor shape. Good pace of play until last few holes where it seemed to bottleneck.
New life for a tired course!
We have played this course numerous times. This was the best experience we have had on this course. The fairways were excellent and the greens were in great condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. We recommend that people who wrote this course off please go back and play it again. You will find a vast improvement!!
Pace of play
Tee boxes could use some work, greens are nice. Would play again if we didn’t have to follow the same foursome.think they were local guys that didn’t have anything better to do than back the whole course up thinking it was funny. Better things to do than a five hour round of golf.
