Junior National Golf Club

About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

PERFECTLY FINE
Tee boxes were fine, fairways were decent(improving) and greens were good. There was grass, literally..only in the places where there needs to be..( tee boxes..fairways and greens) If you don't hit the ball accurate off the tee, you won't want to play here because you WILL be in dirt. FUN COURSE!
great Course
I was to have a five day instruction school at Tres Rios starting 3/4/2024. This school was through Elite Golf School (Tres Rios Golf Course had no involvement other than this is where the instruction was to take place) and I was to meet Jacob Sanchez on 3/4/2024 to begin my instruction. I was later advised by Jacob that he was contacted by Elite to provide the instruction but advised them he was not able to committ to five days(this was months in advance of school date). Jacob was very sympathetic to my situation and even contacted Elite on my behalf but with no results. Jacob and his staff provided me with a complimentary round of golf at Tres Rios and even offered to assist in providing lodging if needed. I enjoyed playing Tres Rios and would reccommend putting this course on the "must play list" while in the Goodyear area. Thank you Jacob and staff for going above and beyond to make this situation an enjoyable day. Bob Confer
Stay out of the rough!
The course was in decent shape except for the rough. The rough was so high that a shot just off the fairway and you were looking for your ball forever. This really slowed down the pace of play not only for us be the groups ahead as well (5 hour round). It does look like they have spent some serious money on this place. The fairways, greens and tee boxes were in great shape and the bunkers all had new sand. The course did look like it had some water damage because of the heavy rains we had. Overall it was a fun course except for pace of play.
Enjoyed This Course
Okay. It’s neither a championship course nor a prestigious course. But I had a great time playing this course and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly! I’m a beginning golfer who needed a place to have fun and feel relaxed. Tres Rios was perfect! Definitely plan to play Tres Rios again! Very comfortable.
Go anywhere else
Played Sunday, starter was a curious combination of condescending and utterly incompetent. Because of a frost delay we started on the back, only to make the turn and find them slotting no less than four groups between us and our previous group ahead. Went into the pro shop to get a refund and was told that I wasn’t getting one. I’ll never set foot on this garbage dump again in my life, you shouldn’t either.
Two word review: clown show.
Horrible Cow pasture
First of all they are working on the course. Fairways are dead and punched. No putting green or chipping area. They are charging $36 dollars when $15 is what it’s worth now. Total disappointment with the course. I won’t be back this summer you can bet on that.
Rapidly improving course
I enjoyed my first round here. There is a new management company. Took over in the fall.
I understand the course was in terrible condition. The fairways grass was in great condition and greens very good. A bit slow for my s taste. There are many projects left to do. Improved cart paths and signage would help.
I look forward to returning to see the improvement.
Don’t let my remarks stop you from trying this course at $ 52.00 including cart it a great value.
NEW COURSE!!!
I heard to course was under new ownership so i tried it out...phenomenal turn around!! After the old ownership neglected the course and the customers the new owners have set a new standard!. This is some of the best grass coverage, tee to green anywhere in the West Valley..new sand in the bunkers and a friendly club house and snack bar staff. The new GM said they will be expanding the driving range to include a teaching program to include a Jr program as well as club repair. I look forward to seeing what they do.....I'LL BE BACK
Unbelievable
If your ball falls on the fairway consider it gone. The manager is horrible. He literally told us to speed it up when we were waiting on the people in front all morning. They set up the tee times spacing horrible. That manager should not be allowed to work there. There is a reason they are closing down!
Horrible
Prepare to loose your ball on the ruff. The ruff is 6in tall. Manager came up to us and said we need to hurry when each group was right behind each other. We were behind a 5 person group. The manager is an a hole. Each group had 3 minutes to play. Even when they reopen We will never return to this course they should stay closed.

This course is terrible.
Do not book. You will lose your ball anywhere in the rough. They need to mow the grass. Terrible course conditions. I will never play here again.

Still in Good Shape
Watering the course. The type of grass they have in the ruff makes it very difficult to find your ball. I last 3 and found 9. The greens have been aerated and are filling in. Makes putting a little more challenging. They were out mowing today which was nice. Note course is closing at 1PM, So you need to be in by then.
