About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Improving
Some areas of the greens font look very good but they roll well and have good speed. Fairways are good, but don’t go off, pretty bare otherwise. Lots of room for misses. You get what you pay for.

Nice layout, poor customer experience ...
Course needs lots of TLC but has a pretty good layout nonetheless...
Pro shop staff however definitely need people skills...The course is hurting for business and they clearly don’t care about a good customer experience...too bad.
Many other affordable courses in the west valley - play somewhere else.

Just ok....
We only paid $35 to play this course so I guess we got our money’s worth... not much going on here!

Getting better
Fairways are better than last year but greens and tee boxes still require attention. Fairways are narrow and if you miss you are either on hard pan or in long grass and weeds. Staff were friendly and helpful. Hope to be back again next year and see more improvements.

Revitalization of Tres Rios
This course has had it's tough times over the last couple of years. But to those who like a nice layout, surrounded by the Estrella mountains instead of homes, know this. Tres Rios fairways are as good as any courses in the area. The greens roll true....spots look a bit rugged, but really didnt affect the read, nor the putts themselves. Some of the normal amenities like ball washers, frequent water buckets would be nice additions. However, the course itself is much, much improved. Hats off to the Tres Rios team for bringing this course back! The courses I have been playing are Palm Valley, Falcon Dunes, Falcon, Sundance. Right now, I question why I am paying $60+ per round at these courses, when Tres Rios is $34 per round....the more I play, the better I get, And I can play almost 2 full rounds at Tres Rios compared to the other courses. To the Tres Rios team.. Thank you. Keep up the good work!

A work in progress
Sort of out of the way, check in easy, carts good, have sand and windshields, buckets for towels, limited water for us on course, fairways pretty good and green and often on the narrower side, roughs can be fair to bad, bunkers have some sand, greens don't putt too badly, but still bad areas and even punched out marks here and there, I think it is some better than years ago, but still needs lots of care, don't have great expectations and the back nine will beat you up

Still in Great shape
Great shape from tee to green. Even had a cart girl out there and sent out a marshal to help with slow play. After he came out not a problem for the rest of the round. Nice challenging course with it's trees.

Course has gotten way nicer
Course is in its best shape in years. Lori the course manager is very helpful and try’s to get everyone out on time . Sand traps actually have sand in them now ( not that you should be in them anyway) looking forward to my next round

A modest course but great company
As the prices reflect, this is not a high end golf course. The 3 people I joined were all fantastic to spend an afternoon with. All in all, it was fair value (cost = course condition).
