Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Good bang for your money
Nice turf and good greens
Only negative
The only negative item was no markings for front, center or back on the flags. This is the only course that doesn't mark the distances with colored flags or flag markers.
They need to get with the times
Slightly below average for the price
The sand traps are terrible, there isn't really sand in them. Its a smidge of dirt on top of hard packed clay. The course was okay, the food was okay. It was the cheapest course I could find on short notice.
Not Bad
The course is well taken care of and good quality playing. Open fairways and good for higher handicaps. Pace of play was terrible. 5 hours is what it took our group to play best ball. No Marshall on the grounds moving along.
Toka Thursday
Day started nice, became a little cool and windy. Course in decent shape, greens could be better.
First day of Girls Golf Course
Day 1 of a girls golf week, and this was the perfect course to knock the rust off our games. Staff was friendly, course forgiving, and we played in just over 4 hours. The greens are abut slow, and some of the pin positions were a bit mean, but we all had a great day and will definitely play again on future trips.
Toka Sticks Mar. 2023
Very good, typical, small town, type of course. Grew up on this type of course, as most of us have. Comfort level on this course is high, for a "feel good course".
This course is nothing special on the surface, but playing it just feels special.
Note to Ownership Group. Start re-planting trees ASAP, as the old Monsters of our past, are starting to fall into their very senior years, and don't have much left. This course without the trees, would not be worth playing, and un-sellable. (It may already, be too late)
Pretty Good Value
Good Value for the money. Grass in Good shape. We will be back.
Bob
I thought the course was in very nice shape and a good value for the price. It had rained all night so things were only a little slow on the greens and some casual water which has nothing to do with the course. I play all over the east valley and this is one I’ll play again since many courses in Scottsdale are very over priced. This is an excellent option for intermediate (80-90) golfers.
Easy course
Just a flat straight course, good for seniors. Most holes are not long. Pretty green though in comparison to many I've played around here.
Beautiful day to play Toka Sticks
Course in nice shape ,greens good, traps unfortunately no sand, all dirt. Only drawback. Good value.
Nice course
Was an awesome course, the pace of play was incredible. We never waited on a hole playing at 1130 on a Sunday. The only thing that needs to be improved is the bunkers? They are hard as a rock. I did notice even hitting them high I never left a divot on the green? Some were a bit hard. Overall this was a great course. 100 bucks? Every course this time of year over charges, is what it is.....
