Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Solid Track
Toka Sticks is a go to for me. Its an open track always on time and reasonably kept. The staff is always top notch!
Some good, some not so good
Most fairways and half the tees were good. Sand traps were very playable. Couple of greens had major repairs and a lot of them had areas recovering from moss with thin grass mostly around the edges. Nice staff.
Some Greens are in BAD SHAPE
Played here many times and love the course. Hole 1 has patches of the green that have been replaced and you have to chip over the planted grass. Pace of play was great and tee boxes in good shape but 2-3 holes green were rough!
Course in bad shape
Course was in bad shape. Cart paths had weeds growing through the cracks. Areas that were not mowed at all or kept up with. Beer Cart person did not seem to want to stop. Just waved each time they passed by. Not a great experience.
Hawk
I have played Toka many times ,this by far is the worst condition ever. The overall appearance excluding pro shop was dismal. Being a Troon management course is way below their standards and they are evidently happy to receive their management fee with little to no effort . I played for 25$ and it was 20$ too much.
Tricky course
This is a very winding course. Xery few holes are straight that you can see the green from the tee.The greens are are very hilly and tough to read.If you can find the fairways from the tee,you have a chance for a birdie, but don't get to aggressive or you will pay the price of boogie or worse. I shot 80 with 1 birdie
Monday golf
No drinking water, no ball washers. Greens hard and almost scalped. Otherwise good shape.
Restrooms
All the restrooms on the course and club house are smelly, dirty.
They need attention ASAP.
Greens?
I have played this course 3 times in last couple months and the greens are in horrible condition. Dirt patches on just about all green and what is the deal with the number 1 green. I like the layout of the course and proximity to my home but the course needs some serious work.
Toka Stick
Given the time of year the Greensboro little rough but overall it looks like they’re getting the course back in shape for the season it was a good value for the price paid
Extremely slow pace of play
Gave this course another try this year. We literally waited 10 minutes per hole to tee off. We walked off after the front nine due to pace. 2.5 hours or more for front. Not sure what the issue was but needed to be addressed. Course was fine and was not as tore up as my previous visit. Likely won't give it another chance.
Conditions are good
I don't know why people complain about this course. This is a good course and very affordable. People these days are too darn picky and don't understand that all courses very often go through matinance during the summer to prepare for winter. Greens for most part are in good shape, all tee boxes except one are in good shape. The yellow grass some people are talking about around the green is to treat the weeds. Fairways are good. Speed was good. We finished in 3 hours! Will certainly be back.
