Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Conditions are good
I don't know why people complain about this course. This is a good course and very affordable. People these days are too darn picky and don't understand that all courses very often go through matinance during the summer to prepare for winter. Greens for most part are in good shape, all tee boxes except one are in good shape. The yellow grass some people are talking about around the green is to treat the weeds. Fairways are good. Speed was good. We finished in 3 hours! Will certainly be back.
Not worth the money
I've played here a lot during previous summers and the course was always in summer condition. Not anymore. I'm not sure if they are preparing to do some sort of renovation but the course is not in great shape. No o yardage markers of any kind whether I'm the tee box or on the fairway. Several holes have different tee boxes so it's hard to trust the yardage on the scorecsrd. The fringe around several greens are overgrown with weeds. Overall the fairways we're what you'd expect during the summer. The rough was terrible. The greens were ok. There were no water stations any where on the course. I understand they want to sell more beer, but not having water on course during an AZ summer is terrible.
This used to be my favorite course to play but unless they make some improvements, it's not worth the money.
Greens little rough
Overall not bad but greens need some work. Very patchy and missing grass on several.
Great condition for summer
Great value here course was very good for time of year. No complaints.
Sunday Golf
Course in good shape for this time of year, Good pace of play, staff very professional
Great course
Awesome condition for this time of the year. Very open course. Would recommend!
Greens were rough
Course was great for the most part, occasionally there were bald spots on the greens that would completely ruin putts and what looked like a waterless pond on the edge of the fairway on the ninth hole. I’d go play it again though, it’s a fun course.
Course conditions
Course was average condition for this time of year. Greens were extremely slow but just had to putt it harder.
Toka Sticks
The course is in fair shape but until they put drinking water in coolers I will not play here that’s awful and in the bathroom on the back nine the sink water was non potable water totally unacceptable. It’s scary to not have water in the summer heat and worse to have non potable water to wash your hands. The course needs to fix these issues. The greens need work also could be a good course if given the work that needs to be done.
Out early, finish fast
We arrived early and were able to get out 15 minutes before our scheduled tee time. Play was very quick and we finished in under 4 hours. Conditions were not what we are used to having at the course. There were many greens with large patches of repair turf running all the way across, and they were all very long, bumby and slow. Many tee boxes are under repair. This course will be a little rough for awhile, until these conditions are taken care of.
Great round on a summers day
For how hot it is, the course was in awesome shape!
Not Bad
Bunkers were not in best conditions.
Punched greens
Not worth it
Clubhouse allowed a 6-some in front of us, turned into a 5 hour round. Course was in ok condition, greens were punched and still recovering. Cheap to play, get what you pay for.
