Toka Sticks Golf Club
About
Unlike many other courses in Phoenix, the course at the Toka Sticks Golf Club was not done in a traditional desert-style. It is known amongst locals for having very fast greens, many of which are elevated. The old Toka Sticks course was originally a nine-hole course built in 1945 but in addition to making it an 18-hole, championship course, it has had many renovations in the years since to make it a more challenging and interesting course. There are stately trees present on the course call for straight shots in order to reach the narrow fairways. Two lakes are situated on the course that create water hazards that come into play on sever holes. There are also several well-placed sand bunkers throughout. Toka Stick Golf Club also offers a short game area, a putting green and a driving range.

Open Layout
I enjoyed this course but it plays with such an open layout that you have to constantly watch for golf balls from the other holes. I was almost hit on multiple occasions. The course was in good shape and sand and water are placed at perfect places to make you layup or take a risk.
Flat, open course
Course had a few water hazards but other than that was fairly wide open. Wind made the course a little more difficult.
Arizona golf
Toka Sticks GC plays well for every level of player. Greens were receptive to approach shots. Greens were in good condition. Staff (inside and outside) were friendly and welcoming. A course that this player will play again.
Slowwww
Conditions were ok. Course was fun and had wide open fairways. Had to wait every hole, wasn't just group in front of us, just too many groups out there. Back 9 takes a while because you're waiting for other golfers on the front 9 playing off your fairway. Staff was friendly. Disappointed I couldn't get a 3rd cart for our 4some and I was even willing to pay extra. They just didn't have any extra carts (which shows how over booked they are). Price is fair for what you get. Our round took 5.5 hours.
Beer to high
Course in good shape. Greens fast and downhill. ( stay below hole). 2 - some we played with were super. Beer prices too high for a public golf course. Cart girl will not get many tips with these prices .
Beer Prices too high
Course in good shape. Greens fast but true. Range balls in both the 10th and 18th fairways unacceptable. Beer prices need to be reduced so golfers can enjoy a drink without going bankrupt. (at $7 beer, the cart girl may as well stay hom because she is not going to get much business.
It was the first course we played on a “7 days of golf” vacation. It was a great course to experience as an opener for 20-handicap golfers. Nothing was too challenging, but a fun course to play.
Excellent course
Excellent course it was our first time here and staff was friendly from the start to the end, course was beautiful greens were nice would definitely be back to play again
Perfectly imperfect
This course was wide open with smaller, fast challenging greens. Flat layout conducive to a long driver, no scenery, a lot of nice green grass, noisy because its near the airport. Worth the money, equal to a mediocre Michigan course with less scenery.
Nice course. Greens can be challenging
Good course. Pace of play was good. Finished round in under 4 hours. Friendly staff.
