The Encanto Nine Golf Course lies to the west of Encanto Park, and offers an executive-length golf course perfect for anyone who seeks a fast-and-loose round, with tee times passed out first-come-first-served. About an hour and a half is usually all it takes to play through the golf course.
The Encanto Nine Golf Course sits in the heart of Phoenix, and claims the honor of being the third-oldest golf course in Arizona and features a casual vibe, perhaps due in part to the foliage. Abundant natural palms line the golf course, and between them golfers can catch beautiful glimpses of downtown Phoenix. The course was designed by William P. Bell.

I love this course
I love playing the Encanto 9. It is the perfect size for my busy schedule and is wonderful on the pocket book as well. Because the cost to play here is so reasonable, I can afford to play more often. Additionally, each time I have been paired up with other players. they all have been really nice guys and fun to play with. It's always a great experience.

Late morning round.
Perfect pace of play. Greens were consistent. A very nice gentleman joined my friend and I on the second nine. Beautiful day.
First Time At Course
Enjoyed my first time here. Loved I was allowed to go out by myself for a round and finish in around an hour.
Appreciate there were course greenskeepers, working on the course but there was one on nearly every hole which wasn't quite ideal.
Will be frequenting this course often to work on my short game.
Pace of play
In front of us was a man and a young girl, maybe his teen age daughter. But he would stop and take the time to give lessons to her causing a back up.

Stay away after 3:30pm
I didn’t realize when I booked my tee time that I would be behind 6 groups of high school kids.
By the second hole, I was already waiting, and it just got worse.
I walked off after hole 5.
Luckily the guy in the pro shop gave me a card for another time. Hence the good review.

Very Nice Short Course
Overall, everything was excellent, with one glaring exception. Maybe I've just been lucky at other courses I've played, but yesterday at Encanto was the first time I've encountered people filming their entire round. 2 men (one ahead of me and one right behind) were taking the time to set up stands for their phone on every shot (including putts). While it didn't drastically impact the pace of play, I do think this is setting a bad precedent and would encourage all golf courses to prohibit this behavior. If you really want your entire round on camera, then have someone who isn't playing come with you and film it.
