Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links
About
This beautiful facility is located on 270 pristine acres at the North end of the Grand Strand. Blessed with a unique topography and large mature trees, the course meanders down to the inter-coastal waterway with scenic vistas to distract you at every turn.
This 6900 yard Clyde Johnston design is owned and managed by the same group that developed the fabled Heather Glen links and the service you have grown to expect from this organization is evident the moment you drive up to the clubhouse. Give this course a try the next time you vist the Myrtle Beach area. You won't be disappointed!

Disappointed
The best thing about our round was the breakfast sandwich before we started. We were told the greens were punched on the 16th what was good to go when we played on July 6th. That was not the case. The greens were very bumpy. I am 50 years old and been coming with my family every year since I was 3. We play at least 3 times every week and this is one of the worst experiences. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE! Our group has 3 single digit handicappers and not one of us played within 5 strokes of our handicap.
overpriced, should have offered aeration special
greens had large tine aeration recently and were very bumpy. Course staff mentioned it to us at check in but it was not noted on TeeOff.com when we booked in advance, and I would def not pay $68 for those conditions had we known.
Out of towner
Double stacked tees led to 6.5 hour round of golf. Greens rolled nice but needed some work soon
Overbooked
We booked for 18 holes and it took 3 hours and 20 minutes to get through the first 9 holes. There was a group of 24 players ahead of us and we were atleast 8 people deep at every hole. We left after 9 holes as we didn't realize the scheduling was so poor and didn't have 7 hours to play 1 round of golf. In the future, they may want to think about leaving a few unfilled time slots after a large team of 24 players have been released onto the course. Very poor scheduling!!!!!
Don't waste your time or money
No grass in fairways, hadn't over seeded so roughs we're nothing but mud and weeds. You will drive past much better courses to get here.
Memorable layout
Scenic holes with well-placed hazards. I’d gladly play again
Must bring your A game!
First time playing this course and it is a very tough layout! Definitely need to play with someone who knows the course if you play here! Staff was great although seemed odd we could not take the carts to the driving range before the round? Anyway, this is not a course for the high handicapper, but we had fun despite the windy conditions. Just don’t expect to break the course record!
Best in Little River
Highly recommend this course a hidden Gem. I have played this course for years !! Love everything about it !! Any level golfer will love this course and no local buffers . Quality Course and Beautiful. Fun for groups and Golfers Locally looking for a challenging course .
Makes you think
A nice course that can be challenging at times. Unfortunately today was cart path only because the course was very wet. The tee boxes could use some maintenance and the greens did have some brown spots but the ball rolled pretty true. Play smart here. I never used my driver, every hole was better played with irons off the tees. The staff was great. It was just a little expensive for this course.
Great Course but in danger
Beautiful layout. Conditions good. Greens were slow, uneven, and patchy. The course has tremendous potential.
The main problem is what appears to be a group of local kids in their early 20s.We'd read a previous review where kids were blocking up traffic and blasting loud music. We ran into obviously the same group. We could hear the music from adjacent holes. Caught up with them on 16. Became clear they didn't care about their pace of play or the loud yelling and music as it could possibly distract others. There were five in their group!! In four carts. The last three holes took over an hour. On 18, they split up to avoid being caught. Could clearly hear every word the belted out from the clubhouse steps all the way on the tee.
Fun course, need your A game
Great layout. Green complexes were very interesting and seemed to be modeled on classic Scottish links. Many, many forced carries. Conditions were wet and cart path only when we played. Greens appeared to be in good condition, however they were very slow. Friendly and helpful staff.
