About
The Sun City South Golf Course is normally a private club but during the summer months, public play is allowed. The course has a traditional layout with four sets of teeboxes for a variety of different golfing options, which allow golfers to work on a range of different handicaps. The golf course has a fair share of challenges with several sand bunkers and plenty of trees scattered throughout. There are also out-of-bounds stakes providing more difficulty. Water hazards come into play on some holes as well. The Sun City South Golf Course facility has a putting green and chipping area for golfers to use in addition to the course.

good course to play
One of the longest courses in Sun City, Az
will break 70 here someday )
Great fun course well maintained
All 4 in our group loved it - greens as well as fairways in great shape
Good challenge from the back tees. Super cordial staff!!
Found there were quite a few long par 4's playing the course from the back tees (6,800 + yards)... Friendliest ever starter! One of the staff lent us his personal cart as they were very busy. That being said, we played in approx. 3 and 1/2 hours!! Will be back after they finish their over-seeding!
Greens
The pin placement on greens with no grass were very poor. You could not make the ball stop at the hole. WE had a 1207 tee offf and did not tee off til 1240, due to the fact they did not have any carts. We were stuck behind a five some and they played really slow. No marshalls on the course.
Course was in good shape getting ready to shut down for over seeding.
Good value for 18 holes with cart. Roughs were a little shaggy otherwise the course was pretty good. They are preparing to over seed in a week. Overall a good day.
Good place to work out kinks
Wide fairways and very flat course make it an ideal for beginners and intermediate players. Greens were shaggy ad slow. Practice facility was OK but balls were quite old and worn.

This course is like all that I have played in Sun City. Very enjoyable
This course has some tough holes for a golfer of my level with the long par 5's and water hazard on both front and back. But great to play and staff very freindly.
Love this course
This is one of my favorite courses in the area. It has about the widest fairways you will find in Arizona. Pace of play was about 3 hours. Greens were average speed but in excellent shape. Same with the plush fairways.
Great deal on a nice course
The course was in good shape. It is a long course from the tips, but very fair from all tees. The greens were a little slow, maybe around an 8, but rolled nicely. All parts of the course were in good shape.

course has wide fairways and the rough is deep enough to slow your club to make for a difficult shot. traps have real sand.
This course was fun to play.
Nicely manicured greens fairways were in good condition considering is was 108 degrees! Golfing in Phoenix in the summertime ... right.

COURSE IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE BURMUDA GRASS IS GETTING VERY NICE.
Not a desert course
Great course to play if you are tired of the desert courses. Fairways and greens in wonderful shape in spite of the summer temps. Lots of cold water fountains throughout course. Fun track to play..staff were super friendly too!
Love this course
I always enjoy playing at this course. It is challenging yet forgiving off the tee.
Nice course
I really liked this course, it was well maintained, sand in the traps was decent, nice wide open course. There are trees but they are not really in play, you can find them with errant shots, but the fairways are pretty wide. Can not comment on greens they had recently been aerated and were slow, in about a week they will be awesome
Twisting Fairways and Challenging Greens!
The golf course staff is friendly and very helpful. The course is well maintained for a public course. Don't be fooled, the fairways are not all straight! The greens are challenging and the pin placements are as well.
Fees on Golf Now are just about right for this course, would not pay regular wall-up rates for this course. The rental carts are clean and well maintained.
Had a great day, will definitely be back!
