Sun City South Golf Course
About
The Sun City South Golf Course is normally a private club but during the summer months, public play is allowed. The course has a traditional layout with four sets of teeboxes for a variety of different golfing options, which allow golfers to work on a range of different handicaps. The golf course has a fair share of challenges with several sand bunkers and plenty of trees scattered throughout. There are also out-of-bounds stakes providing more difficulty. Water hazards come into play on some holes as well. The Sun City South Golf Course facility has a putting green and chipping area for golfers to use in addition to the course.

Greens were great!
Liked the course flat and opened but has well placed bunkers to make you stay sharp off the tees. Greens were fast and rolling great. Will be playing this course again soon.
Sun City South
Course was great, fairway rough very deep hard to fine ball if you miss fairway, greens in goof condition
Will play again enjoyed round.
A nice round
Maybe a little slower than usual since it had rained early, which stacked things up a little. But overall, a good value for the money.
Sun City South Golf Course
Good course for the money! Moderate challenge.
Friendly staff!
Lets golf
the fairways were designed to be wide enough to convert to plots in case the course was to ever close. So with dormant rough they are very generous. A mature course with big trees and palms. Fine sand bunkers and bunker guarded greens and fairways with strategic ( not oppressive ) placements. Fairways are firm enough to be considered hard with roll. Greens were probably close to 9 stimp meter and exceptionally contured making putting no easy task but again not oppressive. Par 3's have forced carry water. Carts were electric and smooth. 3hr 45min of afternoon play made this a fun 18 holes.
South Course
The staff was friendly. There was not a marshall on the course while we were playing so it might have helped to move things along. Some people don;t seem to know golf etiquette on the course and should have let us play through as they were slow and were not playing ready golf. We also had a couple who lost their balls off the 18th tee and went out looking for their balls and then came back to the tee to hit them again?? I have never seen that before. We enjoyed the course but were not impressed with some of the players on the course.
Review
The greens were hard not in great condition. The course itself is good. Foursome in front of us was sloooow all day would not let us play around them. They were looking for balls in the water and just all around slow play. The beers were $7.50 that is overpriced.
Open/short/good for all skill-levels
Course is very open, rough is a little over-grown and tough to get out of. Rough caused extra time just to find ball, needs to be shorter. Fun course, nice and mature with some challenging greens.
Enjoyed even in the blowing wind!
Course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. Had to play as a single, but still finished in under 4.5 hours behind a foursome. They offered to let me play though, but I told them no problem and to go ahead. Course played a little harder than usual due to the gusting wind, but other than that, it was an enjoyable round. I will definitely go back again.
Greens were the most challenge
Enjoyable course with not a lot of water , but a fair amount of sand. Traps were good sand to play from.
Overall quality of the experience was enjoyable. Nice wide fairway easement was valuable that ady because of winds gusting to 35 miles per hour........
Good value!
A great value for under $25 with cart. I had several 8s, 9s and PWs skip off the back, found some luck with SW shots, as the greens were very firm. Some long holes, #3 456yd Par4, #7 574yd Par5, #11 212yd Par3 with a false front...a fair challenge even for low HCP players.
I'll be back!!!
Course just coming out of over seeding, and is in very good shape this this early in the season. Staff very friendly and helpful. A smile and a welcome is a great way to start a round!!
Greens were still pretty slow due to the over seeding, but in extremely good shape and very well maintained. I am sure they would be very challenging when they get slick Bunkers were in good shape and I didn't see a single divot in the fairway that wasn't already filled with sand. You can tell the "regular" players take pride in this course. Course is plenty long from the tips on some holes, but very fair on the shorter par 4's. Wide forgiving fairways, but be sure to avoid the rough. It will cost you if you do, assuming you can find your ball!. Great overall experience.
Good course for a tune up and a relaxing round.
Flat, wide, nice that houses did not come into play....still "cart path only" made for a lot of walking....if ball went into new high grass off fairway it was very difficult to find!
Great value
played it for $18.00 Great value and bang for your buck. Was cart path only but course in great shape. Had a good time.
Good local course
The course was just out of re-seeding and was still long with no roll. Greens were long and slow. This is expected for at least 5-6 weeks. The new grass has come in very nicely. Advise to take and extra club or two on every shot other than the tee. This is a good course fairly flat but pulls you to the right. The green are normally undulating and can fool you. There are enough different types of holes to make it interesting.
This course plays extremely slow
Course was in great shape. Pro shop clerk charged $20.00,when Golfnow advertised and stated the green fee was $18.50. The $1.50 not worth complaining about.
great for beginners
I just started playing golf about 5 months ago and i feel that this course for me is great. Wide open fairways, great when you're not very consistent with your drives. The rough was not too long but still long enough to have a challenging second shot. Bunkers were in great shape, unlike other golf courses were it feels like your hitting out of clay instead of sand. I will definitely be back to play again.
Small greens
Over all the course was in very good shape, the greens were a little slow but putted trur.
Zero Complaints
Course was in great condition for a late summer afternoon - nice and green. For a good player, this course should not be too difficult. It's very flat, and on several par-4's, you hit less than driver. The surrounding houses are spaced wide, giving you much room for error. The prices for range balls are a lot lower compared to other courses I've played.
Fun course, nice staff!
It was a fun Sun City Course for sure! Very flat and in good condition for it being summer. Only complaint may be about how hard the ground seemed. Couldn't get ball to check on greens for anything but overall a fun time. Greens were playing pretty fast.
