About
The 18-hole West Course at Sun City Lakes Golf Club is a private course with a traditional layout. The course is quite open and features a few interesting challenges. It is relatively flat, making it nice to walk although carts are available. More advanced players that mostly hit straight balls may not find the course challenging enough, but it is quite enjoyable for beginners and intermediate players. Notable holes on the course are the 3rd, 9th, and 18th since they can be played a few different ways. The Lakes West Golf Course facility, in addition to the course, has practice facilities including a putting green, chipping area, and driving range.

great walking course
My wife and I walked the course and enjoyed about everything about it except the goose poop and the water hazards which really require a lot of course knowledge to avoid.
Lost a customer over $6.50
Normally, I would give this course a good review. The condition of the course is good. Course layout is good. Nice course to play.
My poor review is for the customer service. I used golf now to pay for my round and secure a tee time. So that wasn’t a problem. The problem is I forgot my wallet and was unable to pay for a cart. I know that’s my fault. However, since I obviously had a tee time and prepaid, I think the clerk behind the counter could have taken the $6.50 loss and let me use a cart. Instead he offered a free push cart. The problem there is that it’s been raining on and off today. I didn’t feel like walking 18 all wet. He could have been cooler about the cart. That’s all I’m saying.
No Carts
Ended up canceling once we arrived. Come to find out course only has 10 carts on hand at any given time. How does an 18 hole course only have 10 carts? Better question why is this course even open.
Definitely will never look to play here ever again.
Also I wasn’t the only 4 some that canceled there tee time. The 15 minutes I was there I witnessed 5 other groups cancel as well.
Hard greens
We had 2 wait a half hour for a card but employee was nice enough to not charge us! Course overall was not in bad shape but greens were very hard and you had to come up short to keep the ball on the green.
I would return
My second time playing this course. It's moderately challenging. what really made it more difficult today was the fact that the greens were cut short and recently sanded- nothing would hold, balls would roll through them. It was also interesting that on the front nine none of the stream beds had water in them, but on the back nine they all did. Fortunately for me, today they had carts available at the incredible rate of $6!
Excellent
The staff is very nice and courteous. The greens are excellent. Very nice golf course.
Fast greens
Golf course is in decent shape. Some of the tea boxes need some work. The greens are fast and hard. Tough to hold with a long iron. With the course is enjoyable and plays well.
Great Course
Don’t let the short distance fool you... holes are tough and bunkers well placed.
Big and forgiving
We walked this course and had a blast with the driver. People are nice and water fountains are everywhere. The greens are very very fast so make adjustments. Oh yeah and the greens are very very fast.
Sun City Lakes West
First time playing this course. It was a great pace of play and the course was in good condition with some challenging holes. I would play it again.
