Sun City Lakes Golf Club - West Course
About
The 18-hole West Course at Sun City Lakes Golf Club is a private course with a traditional layout. The course is quite open and features a few interesting challenges. It is relatively flat, making it nice to walk although carts are available. More advanced players that mostly hit straight balls may not find the course challenging enough, but it is quite enjoyable for beginners and intermediate players. Notable holes on the course are the 3rd, 9th, and 18th since they can be played a few different ways. The Lakes West Golf Course facility, in addition to the course, has practice facilities including a putting green, chipping area, and driving range.

Nice course for old folks
Fives ones allowed is my only complaint. This is a course for the 65 and older crowd. It is a good course for senior ladies.
Pin placement was challenging
First time playing course, will definitely be back
Nice day of golf
Course was very nice ,people were great..Just a very nice day of golf!
Horrid
Love the course but will never go back. Golf is long enough playing foursomes , Watching fivesomes all day with groups that walk so slow they look like they are walking backwards, waiting 10 minutes at each tee box makes for an extremely long round of golf. I’d rather not play than suffer through that again. Shame on any course that allows 5 players
rate of play
nice course, and I've played there several times. Great people I've been paired with, but the rate of play was strange. Teams of 2 then 4 then 2 then 4, seemed odd. When its the busy High Season, it would be better to tighten up the flow.
Good value for the money
Good place to play. Greens a bit tricky as many slopes and pin placements were tough. Played with regular members but it was a five some whic is apparently normal. Pace of p,at good. Would return.
Not the best, not the worst
Shortest of the Sun City regulation courses. Fairly wide open, plays to 6000 yards from the tips, pesky little stream that runs thru a good portion of both nines. Greens were on the smaller side but were inimpecccable condition ( if possible stay below the hole). Pace of play seemed a bit slow but we did finish in 4 hours. Did not have to endure the five some thing that one runs into at some of the other Sun City courses. For non- Sun City residents you’ll need GPS to get there. Intermediate golfers should enjoy playing here.....
My Favorite Course
This is my favorite course in Sun City. I love everything about it. I’ll play it whenever I can.
Great Course
It was a very nice course and well worthe the money. The pace was perfect. Fairways and greens were nicely maintained. I really enjoyed the round and will definitely play the course again.
The greens and fairways are in very good shape but the rough is not watered and the grass is dormant. It hard to hit consistently from the rough.
Course was in very good condition, will be playing again.
great
Overall the course was in good shape and the greens were pretty good.
The staff was really friendly and very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely go back.
Great day
We played this coarse before a few weeks ago. Enjoyed it.
Played well, nice people to play with not overly busy.
Al and all we will go back.
Slow play
Check when booking, no cart included. 5. 1/2 rd. There was a 5 some playing in front of us. Called clubhouse and response was oh well we don’t have a ranger. Will never play there again.
overseed complete
course is in great shape. greens were slow but you should expect that for another 7 to 10 days. very busy but it kept moving no real delays.
Pro Shop overcharged me
Greens were very slow and difficult to putt. My main complaint was that my round was prepaid with Golf Now. When I checked in , the head pro in shop said that my green fee did not include the cart. When I told him that my reservation said the cart was included and it was paid in full, he said that Golf Now is messed up and if I wanted to play , I had to give him an extra $5 for the cart. I had no choice but to pay. I will contact Golf Now to get a credit. I have been online booking for two years now weekly and I never had this happen. Will not play here again since the course apparently does not want to follow Golf Now policy. Thank you.
horrible customer service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got to the golf course with my Golfnow reservation and sent my wife into the club house to get us signed up and get a cart. She came out and informed me the staff said we do not get a cart that we have to pay for one. I entered the proshop and showed the staff member that my paperwork from Golfnow showed, in writing, that a cart was included. The staff member said they never give carts for Golfnow tee times. Then he told me I would have to take it up with golfnow. I told him that I would and they should not use Golfnow services if they do not intend to honor their agreement. He said something like he did not like the fact that Sun City golf courses used Golfnow. I paid for the cart and contacted golfnow on the telephone, got the standard recording they would call me back. It has been half a day now and no return phone call.
nice course
The course was in great shape. Staff very friendly. Course set up for a US Open. Rough was very high and thick. Very lucky to find your ball even when you know where it went. For a retirement community course the rough was very unfair and made round not very fun. Friends that visited don't want to play here again!!
