Sun City Lakes Golf Club - West Course
About
The 18-hole West Course at Sun City Lakes Golf Club is a private course with a traditional layout. The course is quite open and features a few interesting challenges. It is relatively flat, making it nice to walk although carts are available. More advanced players that mostly hit straight balls may not find the course challenging enough, but it is quite enjoyable for beginners and intermediate players. Notable holes on the course are the 3rd, 9th, and 18th since they can be played a few different ways. The Lakes West Golf Course facility, in addition to the course, has practice facilities including a putting green, chipping area, and driving range.

Courses in transition from winter to summer at this time, but overall courses in great shape fun to play
Good value
I enjoy playing this course as it’s not ever backed up while playing. Price is a very good value for the round! Nice course layout and the greens were in nice shape. A decently maintained course.
Nice course slow play
Course was in very decent shape. Good amenities but pace was very slow even with rangers on course.
SunCity Lakes West Revieew
Fairly poor shape. Lots of dry hard pan. Most tee boxes are dry and hard, very little grass. Same applies to the practice range.
Greens were good course conditions were up to par no pun intended staff were friendly a fun track.
Nice course
Course was in very good condition and very playable.
Slowest Pace of Play
Nice course, but they allow 6 in a group. We were waiting 10 minutes at each tee box. The two groups behind us were waiting with us at one point. It took us over two hours to finish the front 9. We went home after 9 holes even though we paid for 18 because we don’t have 5 hours to spare + it wasn’t even fun at that point. Had we known this was going to be the experience, we would’ve gone elsewhere.
5-somes?
Course was in decent condition considering brown tee boxes. Staff were very friendly. Gas powered carts not my favorite. I would recommend this course if not for the pace of play. We waited on almost every tee box and fairway. There were two fivesomes in front of us.
Conditions declining
I played here less than a month ago and the grass tee to green was very good. The greens rolled great and true. I played yesterday and found it surprising how much the course had changed in less than a month. All the tee boxes from holes 1-10 were brown. Tee boxes on 11-18 were green. The greens on all 18 holes were patchy and not in the shape they were the last time I played. Almost looked like they weren’t watering the course. Fairways were so-so, also not as good as the month before. But I won’t complain too much, got a good deal on GolfNow.
Normal Sun city course
The Sun city’s courses all seem similar! But not a bad thing. Fairways green but rough brown. Greens cut to short and bald spots
