Trail Ridge Golf Course at Sun City West
About
Trail Ridge Golf Course offers a good game on a truly desert landscape. Built on mostly flat terrain, the course can be walked but there are some holes that are quite hilly. Ponds situated throughout the golf course create water hazards that come into play on six holes. There are some elevated tees and greens as well as strategically placed sand bunkers to add further challenges. Four sets of tee boxes ensure that golfers of all skill levels and abilities will enjoy the course. The Trail Ridge Golf Course facility also features practice facilities including a putting green and chipping area and there is also a fully stocked pro shop.

Good value
Fairways and greens in excellent shape, rough very spotty. Play a little slow 4:20 min for round. No memorable holes, most fairly straight and no elevation changes. Mostly wide fairways. Some water on a few holes. Got great price on golfnow and would play again
Very nice course
It was the first time I played Trail Ridge and I was impressed. The course was in very good shape and it had some challenging holes. It seemed like most of the greens were almost mounded, so if you didn't hit in the middle of the green, the balled rolled off. And the grass was short so there was nothing there to keep the ball on the side of the green. It usually rolled all the way down to the hard pan. The greens were fast and rolled smooth.
Great value for this time of year
Trail ridge is a great walking course.
Had a frost delay that got things backed up, nothing the course could do. They managed it very well.
Pace was a little slow, this course plays fast just got stuck behind a a slow group.
Overall course conditions were good, greens were a little bumpy. But for $47 walking, can’t beat it.
Fun course
nice course. fairways and greens in great shape. great pace of play. Enjoyed it.
Nice sun city west course - great staff
Course was in very good shape- from tees to greens.
Pace was very good - didn’t have to wait on any of the holes.
Staff a clubhouse was very professional and cordial.
Would definitely play again.
Only downside is $16 per player for a cart.
West valley hidden gem
Spent $50 on a 1:07PM tee time and didn’t expect much for that price this time of year, but boy was I wrong. The conditions of the fairways and greens rival the best east valley courses (I’ve played TPC and We-Ko-Pa in the last 2 weeks). Not a dead/dormant blade of grass on the fairways or greens. The rough is dormant (to be expected this time of year ) and there is plenty of waste area you can find off of the tee. Clubhouse, carts and facility are dated but you can find $3 beers, hot dogs and other snacks and drinks inside. Cheapest bucket of range balls I’ve found in years. If you are thinking about playing here….do yourself a favor and do it.
The course was in excellent condition
With the exception of some slow play created by the par 3s, I found the course to be quite enjoyable. The fairways and greens were an excellent shape along with a friendly staff and decent amenities such as chipping greens, putting greens and driving range.
