Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

we had fun but it was slow playing. seemed to wait on every T box. what ever happened to the 4 hr round?

Nice muni course in Tempe
Interesting layout with the largest greens I've ever played. That doesn't make the course easy. A good challenge on many holes. Definitely not boring. Shop staff were great.
A good test
Played Ken McDonald many time. This time in particular there were 2 older walking groups in front of us. They were very slow and held up the whole course. My partner and I jumped ahead and skipped two holes because we had to wait for every shot. This shouldn't happen the first thing in the morning. Maybe they should have walkers at a certain time so you can avoid the slowness.
Overall Great Course
First time playing. The course was in great shape and it's a great layout. Only negative about our round - - there were two groups in front of us that were very very very slow. Typically, there were 2 groups waiting on each tee box which made for a very slow round. Again, great course and will play again.

Great Course for the money
Love this course. The fairways are excellent. The course is in great shape. All the staff are excellent. Can’t go wrong playing here for $52.
One of our favourite courses in the area
A bit over 6300 yards from the white tees. Fairways were lush and in great shape. Greens were also in excellent shape and quick. Can be challenging to read. This course can be quite busy. However, the day we played, the pace was great and we completed the round in just a bit over 4 hours. We brought some friends who had never played this course before. They enjoyed it and found it fairly challenging. The only negative that day was that the beverage cart was not operating. At the turn, we went to the bar to get something but they only had a single person working and she looked pretty busy. We couldn't wait so we left. Still, as many other reviewers have said, this is a bargain course. One of our favourite courses in the area.
