About
Located in the metropolitan Phoenix area, the affordably priced Ken McDonald Golf Course is a championship-length course that is suitable for any level of golfer. The flat terrain of the course makes for an enjoyable stroll, while the water hazards that come into play on eight holes provide plenty of challenge. The water hazards are provided by the Western Canal, which flows directly through the golf course. The par-5 11th hole is the longest on the course at 570 yards; it is very difficult to reach in two shots. In addition to the course, Ken McDonald Golf Course offers several other amenities including a restaurant, club fitting and repairs, and professional golf instruction.

Golfer Reviews
Fantastic conditions
Course is playing great. Greens much slower than practice green.
Great value
1st time playing here. Greens and conditions were outstanding! If you’re on a budget, this course may be the best vakue in the east valley.
Won’t ever go back
Got yelled at for only being 20 min early for tee time by starter. Course is flat. Greens are flat. Everything is straight. No real challenge on course. Beer cart girl tried to steal waters we brought from home and make us buy from her. Group of 6 older men ahead of us, half of which with push carts. Marshall reminded us on EVERY HOLE that we were behind regardless of waiting 15min to tee off on each hole. Will never go back to this course.
Great Condition
Came out of overseed in excellent shape, greens were a little slow but very healthy so when they cut them down watch out !!!
Pretty good condition
Perfect day to play.
Pace of play was a bit slow.
Greens were slooow, but should improve soon.
Everyone was nice
Great course for a warm up round.
Good shape. Not very tricky and few blind landing areas which is great if you haven’t played here before.
Sloooow Greens
We should have waited a few days until they cut the fairways and greens.
I know they are just coming off reseeding.

Course came in great shape for a muni. I was shockingly surprised of the pace of play despite being cart path only. The course and layout is not as nice as the premium courses in the valley (Troon, Grayhawk, etc) however you cannot beat the value. Friendly staff, the food and beer is good with a great value. I recommend they put sand in the carts for divot repairs versus taking the sand out of the bunkers to keep the course in good shape. Great value overall and I highly recommend the course!
