Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

Fairways were okay nothing fabulous. There was no rough at all it was all dirt. Understanding greens we're slow from being overseeded. The price was okay. I will not play this course again.
Give it time
over seed was nor even close to welcome golfers. Putting greens were like putting in your back yard that you didnt mow. I am sure this is a good course, but I should have had coffee with the guys watching me finish the last hole.

Course getting ready for seeding
When I booked, the course didn’t say it was getting ready for seeding. Fairways are cut down. Thatch all over. Guy trying to level areas and bringing up dust. Ponds green and stagnant. Bridges need repaired.. Older course. Needs updated

Don’t waste your time
Poorest course conditions I’ve ever played on. It’s not worth wasting your money. It’s cheap to play there but actually not even worth it. So many areas without grass at all and the greens were totally bumpy and impossible to read.

So/so
The course was in rough shape and the views weren’t exactly “spectacular.” But for the price of 9 holes, I can’t complain too much. If I wanted to squeeze in a quick round and didn’t have much money, I’d go back.

We've had a lot of rain in the last couple of months causing the grass to really be green and growing. The course looks good.

Terrible , terrible, terrible
Other than the greens which were in
decent shape, entire course was in horrific condition ! Looks like landscape and course maintenance / upkeep is on a zero budget ! Nothing has been overseeded properly , all rough is completely uncut or cared for , bunkers have had zero upkeep have zero sand , all weeds & grass clippings , poor management & waste of any money to play ! Disappointing how this course has gone downhill from what was once a fun short track !
