About
Shalimar Golf Club is a nine-hole golf course in Tempe. The course is best for beginners but it has enough challenges in store to make it a great option for more advanced players who want a quick round. The layout is comprised of three par 3s and six par 4s. It weaves through a smattering of mature trees and across gently rolling hills. The small greens can be quite tricky, especially since there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along some. Water hazards come into play on a few holes, including the 155-yard fifth, which is one of the golf course's toughest. You'll have to pull off a carry over the area's biggest lake to a heavily bunkered, narrow green. Shalimar Golf Club's ninth hole is the most well known though, mainly for the island green. In addition to the water, there are also four bunkers surrounding the green.

It was good value for the money, but the course was in pretty poor condition. Think it’s for sale.
Good 9 hole
Staff were great , course going through maintenance but that didn’t get in the way of golfing. It’s a fun course
It had been a while since I had played this course but it was definitely not how I remembered the couse as the greens use to be an amazing green and now that was not the case. It worked out on this occassion as my son is a novice and learning but to actually want to go out there for a nice quick 9, I would have to definitely rethink the option
poor conditions
It's a shame that there isn't money put into this course to update it. It's actually a fun short track, but some of the greens are unplayable depending on pin location. There's overgrowth covering past divots and chunks that have been taken out of the bed. On some holes the greens are not flat, and Im not referring to slope, I mean the ball doesn't roll smooth over the blades of grass, it's actually quite bouncy and can end up rolling at a different angle than off your putter face. Then there's falling apart fencing, the weeded out/grass overgrowth in the bunkers. Add the fact that every time I play here people go from holes 8 and go back to replay 3. The pix that are posted here are NOT representative of the course conditions.
for the money, great
Wanted to go out for a few holes, test the irons. This course is short, doing exactly what I wanted. It is definitely an easy course. Playing it twice to get 18 holes, no.
Rough in some places
Course definitely could use a bit more attention, especially with the cart paths. All the bunkers have grown over and are a really strange mix of grass and sand. However for about 20$ it’s usually not busy at all and you’ll typically be one of only 2 or 3 groups playing the course at any time. I’ve had nothing but good experiences here and if the course was given a bit more attention it would be one of the best 9 hole courses in Arizona as far as I’m aware.

Golf course was fairly quiet and staff.Young fellow very friendly. course, is in pretty tough Shape with all the heat but still playable

Awful Course
It’s just not well kept. It’s very neglected. Massive hard dirt sections on most holes. Bunkers are over grown and full of grass. It’s very muddy is many spots. The greens are a bumpy nightmare because there’s sand all over them. There’s no water at any of the holes and this is Arizona…. That should be illegal. Overall a terrible experience. I don’t recommend and will definitely never play here again unless they completely revamped the place.
