About
The West Course at Eagle Valley Golf Course winds through the Carson City foothills at the base of the Eastern Sierra. The links-style layout features an interesting variety of holes that provide a formidable test for even the most advanced players. The fairways are lined with native desert vegetation that grows tall enough to provide some challenge and several water hazards are strategically placed throughout. The dramatic elevation changes in the rolling landscape also require forced carries. Accuracy is vital to doing well on the golf course, offering a true risk-and-reward experience. For golfers wanting a more relaxed round, Eagle Valley offers the less daunting East Course.

Watch for wind.
The majority of the course plays uphill. What made it even more challenging was the wind. As I'm not a long hitter, the uphill and wind made the course longer. I was glad to take advantage on a few of the holes that played with the wind. Greens were excellent and a few of the fairways had standing water (fairways were being watered during my round). Overall, great experience.

Eagle Valley East Course
We booked the west course because it had been recommended to us. When we got there the west was closed and had to play the east course. It was a disappointment because it is rather boring. We would not have booked it if we had been told that we had to play the east course. If you are looking for a long wide course, then you might like it. Not a whole lot of challenges.
Good Value and the course is well maintained
Played during the middle of day and it was quite windy, as usual. I was impressed with how well the course has been maintained. It had been a least a year since I played it. The only problem we had is that they were doing quite a bit of work on the course at that time and we were held up a couple of times.
Good course for the money. Has some difficult holes for a challenge. Be ready for wind if you play afternoons.
Play there a lot on both the courses ( East and West) This last time was the first time I experienced a big delay on my tee time ! Had 1pm tee time, got off starting on back 9 at 2pm due to a Tournament that ran late from the morning. Had to wait 30 minutes to get my cart !
course in good shape for the cost
Course had no starter or rangers.I saw 6 different 5 somes during the 5 hour round.Carts were crossing fairways to meet friends to play extra holes. I never saw so many golfers in blue jeans and tee shirts.This must be the norm for this course.

I play this course several times every year and it's always in good shape. Staff is very friendly. The course is challenging, particularly in the wind (which most afternoons are). Good mix of holes - nice views do the foothills and mountains. Great place to play when you're in this part of the world.

Course in really good shape
The greens were in great shape, sand traps could use some work,they were preaty hard underabout a 1/2 inch of sand.
New Super is super!
A local favorite, the course conditions are the best I have seen in decades. Greens especially are firm, fast and true. Staff is very helpful and competent.

Awesome Greens
This was my first time playing this track. The round finished in 3 1/2 hours and there was a foursome in front of my buddy and I. I love the greens. The course was in great condition. When visiting play this course.
Great value for the money
I come to Eagle Valley every time I visit Reno. I plAy in the afternoon ... not ideal for some, but fits my schedule. It is a solid but not scary golf test, and the rate with a cart is a bargain. They've always been friendly, and indulged my desire to play alone when possible.

Have not played this course in years, and now cannot figure why. It is awesome, fun, well maintained and has great staff.

A well maintained public course with some nice challenging holes. Windy in the PM that affects shots with head winds. Fair greens with good speed.

This well maintained desert course is a pleasure to play. Speed of play is almost always under 4 hours. Fairways are lush, traps are fair but the greens are the real showpiece being consistant and way above average.
