Great course
My recent round at the Incline Valley Championship Golf Course was a fantastic experience. The course's breathtaking layout was in pristine, impeccable condition from start to finish. What truly elevated the day, however, was being paired with three welcoming locals who made me feel right at home with their friendly banter and helpful tips. It's a must-play for its top-notch conditions and inviting atmosphere.
Enjoyed the course - great layout!
FYI for the staff ... given that increment weather was in the forecast, the course should have posted the policy for bad weather, meaning, should they blow the horn and pull you off the course, what is the refund / voucher policy. Our group was told one thing, but then had to argue once this situation happened. The course did meet with a satisfactory solution, but only after our group stuck to their guns.
Incline Golf
Great Staff and we always play multiple times when we come in the summer. Spectacular views and early summer conditions.
Beautiful Golf Course
Played 18 holes in the afternoon. My son and I were joined by a local player that knew the course well. Fairways are lined with trees, so we had some tree troubles. Got to hole #8, 170 yards from the blue tees, and I drilled an ace. I'll remember this course for a long time!
Great staff and challenging course
The staff from the pro-shop, cart services, starter and food services were golfer friendly and professional. We always enjoy playing at Incline.
Best course in Tahoe
Incredible championship course from the tips. Bring your A game off the tee. The greens roll true. They really should have the us open qualifier here.
No Fairways, No Glory.
There’s something deeply unsettling—yet strangely glorious—about playing golf a mile high, surrounded by pine trees that whisper threats and encouragement in the same breath. Incline Village’s Championship Course is a high-altitude fever dream: tight, scenic, and just deranged enough to keep you guessing whether you're playing golf or starring in some Eisenhower-era survival film. The layout is strong—Robert Trent Jones Sr. was clearly in a mood when he carved this out of the forest. Narrow landing areas, elevated greens, and enough forced carries to make a sober man weep. It’s beautiful, yes—but it wants blood.
The first few holes lull you in with postcard serenity: sunlight dancing off the pines, Lake Tahoe peeking through the trees, chipmunks frolicking like they’ve never heard of double bogey. But don’t be fooled—this course has fangs. Miss a fairway and you’re hacking out of pine needles and whispering prayers to forgotten gods. The greens are slick, sloped, and damned near psychic. They move the ball without touching it, like a Vegas magician in white spikes.
Conditions were very good—not immaculate, not Augusta—but far better than the usual resort fluff. Tee boxes level, fairways lush, and the greens rolled quick and true. A few rough patches here and there, but nothing that interrupted the righteous pilgrimage from tee to cup. The staff? Friendly enough to make you suspicious. The pro shop was stocked, the drinks were cold, and the driving range had enough altitude to make your 6-iron feel like a ballistic missile.
Why not five stars? Because this course, for all its beauty and testicular toughness, flirts with being too tight—too unforgiving. A man can only slice so many into the timber before his spirit begins to erode. Still, if you want a round that challenges your game, your lungs, and possibly your sanity, Incline’s Championship Course is a worthy arena. Just bring extra balls and a flask of something honest.
Great Autumn Round
Hard to complain about terrific weather, beautiful course conditions, play never held up and finished the round in three and a half hours! Hope to have the opportunity to play this course again next year (course closes next year).
Beautiful
Tough course but a vacation round with my spouse so I played the white tees. Love the course and surroundings. Totally prefer this to any links courses. Amazing how it's built on the side of a mountain yet has fairly even landing areas on every facet of the course. A must play. if near Lake Tahoe.
Jim to Save the Day!
We initially did not include this course due to reviews regarding members. After hearing from multiple Tahoe locals, we decided to make it the last course of our 3 day golfing trip. I had one of the worst experiences in my 29 years of golfing with a member of the course. If it wasn’t for one of the friendliest and best staff members, Jim the marshal, taking great care of the situation, this would have not been a good review. We played 3 amazing courses on our trip from Dallas; Edgewood, Old Greenwood, and Incline Village. Although I loved all three course, Incline Village was my favorite of three for the money. I think it’s a must play! Thanks again Jim, you made the last day of our trip very a very enjoyable one.
Hadnt played here since early 90s
A friend of ours had a condo on the land side of lake shore drive near the Hyatt and we used to play the mountain exec with my dad who wasnt much of a golfer. For an exec it was awesome. But for us who could handle the championship course, it was awesome. But our friend sold in the mid 90s and i hadnt played it since the renovation in the early 2000’s . Was up from our cabin down near bridgeport on a golf trip north. Played some other of our favorites north of truckee and saved the best weather day for last at this course. First thing i noticed was the swapping of the 9’s which i like better and the course was in absolute perfect shape. The pace was a little slow at first but they had a marshall out and it picked up pretty quickly. Of course my nemesis hole is still out there just got a different number on it now, it used to be 16, the picture hole with the awesome view of tahoe. If i remember right its 7 now. I think its the view that takes out my concentration.
Like being in a Painting
Tremendous experience from beginning to end. Super friendly staff and head pro were welcoming and fun. Course was in incredible condition and while it had several risk/reward challenging holes it made for a great afternoon and unforgettable sunset! Greens ran pure and I played alongside a member who was friendly and super knowledgeable about the track. If you only play one course in the Tahoe area THIS is the one. Great time!!
Windy Day
Very windy and cold, but still enjoyed playing this course. Played with Hot Deal. Wish they had some lower prices earlier in the day.
Starter and Course Ranger were very helpful.
Very tight and challanging course
Lightning fast, but true greens. Very scenic course.
