Dayton Valley Golf Club

Very Fun challenging course. Well maintained, Definitely unique. One of my favorites of the courses I’ve played in the carson valley. Also it has friendly staff at all 3 encounters. The pro shop guy, the bartender girls, and cart guy. The bacon chicken wrap and drinks were good and fair priced.

The course has a great layout. The fairways and greens are in great shape, but some of the bunkers are way overgrown (especially on 17 & 18).

The cart person is blatantly not doing their job. The cart wheels are mostly cambered outwards, dirty, never have sand (so I can't repair divots), never have ice for the coolers, etc. It doesnt seem it would be a hard job....unless theyre also the grounds keeper and doing other jobs.

The clubhouse items are a bit dated and always seem to be out of stock of the most basic of items. This is the second time I've been here where they didnt have ball markers.

The restaurant has good items, bit its always just one person that does the bar, waitress, busses, and cleans the tables. I always feel bad having them wait on us because theyre busy behind the bar.

I love this course! Great challenge but not stupid long like most courses these days.

After my first round it felt like a course to play again.

Has some key shots from barren spots. I agree you should play the course as you find it. But, I’m taking some lateral drops when I find my fairway shot in barren weeds and sand.

Tee boxes and green in good shape. Fairways good. Just don't miss a green or fairway, conditions bad.

Our tee time was 10:30. We made the turn at 1:30 and finished 18 holes at 4pm. Yes it was a 5.5 hour round. The course was in very good shape and would have been fun to play if it wasn't for the scramble tournament ahead of us. Thursdays is Senior day. You get a ticket for a free lunch and the Hamburger was the best I have had in a long time. Despite the 5.5 hour round everything else was very good. I will play this again.

The sand traps are full of pebbles, like they gotten out of the desert

The course was in good condition, if you like undulations! They could have better signage guiding golfers from one hole to another.

Fairways, tees, & greens are in good condition. Some bare spots in rough areas & along cart paths.

Had the course to ourselves so pace was good. Good value if you get a Hot Deal!

The course was in great condition, there a lot of undulations!! The locations of the next tee were not always visible.

My favorite local course has fallen. While the green and tee boxes are still great, the rest of the course is just awful! Weeds are out of control, large barren batches in fairways and around the greens. 😞

Few frustrations 1st. Driving range closed so no warmup. Practice green slow and a bit shaggy, practice area not taken care of. Course is well planned and good layout. Course conditions are a few steps below what youd expect. Needs TLC and re-invesgment. Many Bunkers are hard and contain no sand. Standing water and mushy conditions a lot of places. Hadn't played for a couple of years due to poor condition of the course. Decided to give it another try - and pleasantly surprised. Tees, fairways and greens all in good condition. Only negative for me was bunkers which were more like mud / stone pits rather than bunkers, but hoping this might get addressed. Good experience overall.

Play on the weekday. Hardly anyone out there. Bar opens at 10, so bring refreshments to stay hydrated in the morning

Not the first time I've played here. Course layout is great, and par 3's are challenging. Staff is friendly, except there were no cart personnel that offered drinks or snacks on the course.

Water jugs were completely empty (not even in the holders) throughout the course. Some of the bunkers are completely overgrown (especially on 18).

Restaurant offered good food (get the spinach artichoke dip) and staff was equally friendly there as well. Just a couple things to improve on the course, but ill definitly be back.
