Dayton Valley Golf Club

About
Dayton Valley Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer Signature design that has been a PGA Tour Qualifier course since 1995, making it the longest standing site in the country. The course is surrounded by the Sierra Nevada Mountains and stretches across the valley below. The rolling, links-style layout features sculpted fairways and large, undulating greens. You may find yourself faced with a tough lie even after a good shot. It's a challenging test with plenty of water and strategically placed bunkers coming into play throughout. Careful shot placement is especially important on the water holes at Dayton Valley G.C. The most difficult hole on the golf course is the par-4 ninth. It's a lengthy dogleg left with water down along the entire left side of the fairway and short and right of the green. On your approach, hitting left of the green you'll find heavy rough or pot bunkers.

Fun Course
winter brown everywhere, but greens rolled very well
Dayton Valley
Winter conditions and less business for golf courses in our area make it difficult for them to let the course in good condition.
Use the restroom before you hit hole one!
I really enjoyed the course and it was in good condition. Though, don't plan on using a restroom on the course... OR a tree! Houses left and right and like "5" trees on the course.
Dayton on Sunday
Excellent course in fantastic conditions. Usually there is a stout wind on this course but not today. Weather was great - only down side was a few areas are over watered.
A fantastic day to be outside and enjoying a great golf course.
Nice surprise
We weren't sure what to expect since Dayton is almost an hour outside of Reno, and the price on Golfnow was very reasonable for an afternoon round. We were pleasantly surprised that the course was in excellent condition and the greens ran true and fast. The layout has a lot of contour, and some challenges, but the course has tees for any handicap, and the fairways are forgiving. The staff was extremely friendly. The only issue I had was that the front nine played very quickly, and we saw almost no one. When we made the turn we somehow, suddenly found ourselves behind groups that were not the ones we were behind on the front, and the pace slowed considerably. I am not sure if they sent people off the back nine ahead of us, or if we some how, miraculously caught everyone on the turn, but we waited on every shot beginning on the tenth tee. Regardless, it is a great course and we had a very enjoyable round, made even better by the reasonable cost to play it.
Rude and bossy woman staff made us feel unwelcome.
Perfect weather and good design of the course but ruined my spirit from the woman in the pro shop whose attitude was nothing but unprofessional. When walked in the pro shop, she was talking with a person who appeared to be her aquatint and never looked at me once. Then she got on the phone more minutes, when she asked me, without even looking, “What can I do?” Never encountered such rude and unprofessional customer handling in any pro shop during the last 25 years of playing golf. She was bossy, ordering and made me feel like a inferior person or not supposed be playing the game because I got a good discount through GolfNow. Shouldn’t I have told her that I had prepaid through GolfNow?
The greens were good, the fairways were well maintained and like the design as always. Very challenging but could enjoy the game very much and worth driving 165 miles to play. Thanks GolfNow.
