Sunridge Golf Club
About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Slow Play Frustration
Too slow! 5++ hours on an empty day. A 3 some was holding things up two groups in Front and the Marshall didn’t motivate them. A fourth joined th
E on the 16th? How did this happen?
Great Course
The Course was in good shape ! Just the Bunker are bad but for the money absolutli a must ! Great backnein !
Fun, Great Views (in a valley), Don't Miss This One
Great course, challenging and the staff is great especially Wayne. Thanks for a great round.
A Friendly Golf Oasis
Unlike most all other courses in Carson City area, this jewel sits on the border of a housing development, but houses do not intercede into play. The course layout is varied, with each nine starting out with 5 flat terrain holes and then migrating into 4 hilly holes, representing quite a change of pace in estimating club selection. The course was in quite good condition and greens fast enough given the insulation in them.
The friendliness of the ladies in the pro shop area and food/bar area was outstanding, almost more than one could hope for. This is my third time playing here over the past dozen years, and I'd not hesitate to visit again if in the area.
Awesome variation
Great course for me money, staff was great and the course was both challenging and interesting with lots of elevation changes and dimension on the back nine. Definitely has challenging greens with undulations. Will definitely play here again.
Water water everywhere but not a drop to drink.
Course layout is interesting, requiring lots of local knowledge to avoid the numerous water hazards and massive elevation changes.
My only complaint is for a course in the middle of the desert, with almost zero shade in the near 100 degree heat, the only drinking water was over priced bottles from a vending machine. Bring plenty of water with you or risk dying of thirst.
Pleasantly surprised
I had some doubts going in because of some recent reviews concerning the course conditions, but I came away very pleased with almost everything about the course.
The greens are in very good shape and roll true. The fairways have some brown areas but the grass is still grass and not dirt. Considering this is the dry part of the year, I thought they were great.
The pace of play on this day were excellent. Never had to wait more than a minute to tee off or approach any green. Finished 18 holes in 3:30.
The water hazards are numerous, but only one is "in your face" and was a fun par 3. I had to pay attention to where the various ponds and creeks were located and shoot accordingly. The elevation gains and drops were interesting without being crazy. Very fun layout.
The only complaint concerns the bunkers. I only sampled one (in 18 holes!), but it was more like clay than sand. I wasn't able to hit a proper bunker shot with a sand wedge. Just punched-out with a hybrid. I did notice that at least some of the bunkers had real sand.
Still, overall it is really good. And at the prices they're charging I rate it as excellent. Will definitely return and would have no qualms in recommending it to friends.
Unbelievable winds, poor course markings
Course was in reasonable condition and in calm conditions would be only moderately difficult. However, it was VERY WINDY for my round and this made play very difficult. Furthermore, it was somewhat difficult to know where to to go for the next hole on several occasions. Signage was poor to nonexistent. I do complement the course for the course play guide which provides excellent guidance on how to approach each hole. Also, the four staff members I interacted with were all extremely friendly. Still, given the winds and difficulty navigating the course at several junctures I would say this is at best a two star experience out of five.
Hairy fairways
Like the layout. Fairways didn’t get cut for days, some of the traps were not maintained, some of the tee boxes were not level well. Enjoyed the challenge the course offered
Great course for the money
First time playing since new owners. The gas golf carts were a an added bonus. Needed a marshall. I went out as a single and immediately ran into a five some, that were not good golfers. They did let me play through and I played two holes before running into 2 foursomes and a twosome all on a pair five. I skipped a hole and got ahead of everyone and enjoyed the rest of the round. Course was in good shape for this time of year with lots of challenges.
SunRidge
Great time! Friendly staff and a quick round.
Need Cart covers to protect clubs from rain.
Sunridge Golf COurse
Tight course, requires accuracy. it's not a long course and the driver can stay in the bag on many holes. greens are quick downhill.
Can't Believe it is February
Warm and Sunny Day with many players on the course.
Course is in great shape for winter and the variety of fairway layouts with changes in slopes make the course somewhat challenging. Hazards include water, mountainside, and brush.
