About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Golfer Reviews
Greatly improved
We vacation South Lake Tahoe almost every year; however it’s been two years since we were here. The course has been greatly improved. Greens are excellent and there are no bare spots on the fairways. I’ve been playing here for almost twenty years and this time it’s the best condition ever. I’m here for another ten days and hope to play a couple more times.
Great Course for the Money
I always enjoy playing here when in the Lake Tahoe area. Multiple challenging tees, very good layout, nice greens, and a great hot dog in the Pro Shop. Wouldd efinitely recommend this place, and friendly staff.
Play here once a year on annual outing. Course conditions are improving every year for past couple of years. Great value for the money. Interesting back nine.
Fun Course
Tried the course out for the first time. Followed a tournament. Was really slow for a men’s club. Greens were in great shape minus a few bare spots. Par 3 on the back has a green that isn’t less than desireable. Otherwise, great course.
What an adventure
Every time I take some one to the course, the always say wow I lost a lot of balls today!
Next time I will play a little tighter game.
Wonderful place
I've been trying to play a different course every week this year and sunridge has by far been my most pleasant experience this summer. The course conditions may not be that of a tour course "yet" but it is very playable and enjoyable. The layout and varying landscapes is second to none and makes for a very exciting round. My complete take of this place is great, the place needs some improvement but seems to be getting the treatment it needs in means of management and course care. All of that coupled with the phenomenal staff definitely ranks this course up towards the top in my book!
Had a great day the course is in great condition staff is always professional and courteous brought a friend that had never played there she loved it will always go back and play at Sunridge
There are a lot of really unique holes on this course. A lot of water too. Sometimes you just have to lay up
enjoyed my day
Course was challenging but in good shape pace of play was good staff was very helpful for my first time there .I will play it again and recommend it to my friends
Great Experience
Took my grandson who was visiting from Florida. He had never seen a course with so many elevation changes. Course was in excellent condition and a good value for the money.
Good pace of play, especially for a Saturday.
Tuff course
I thought it was a tuff course layout for the first time playing there. Lots of blind shots off the tee. Lots of elevation changes on this course, some you can’t even see the fairway from the back tees. Overall a decent course for the money. Expect to lose a few balls if it’s your first time here.
Beautiful views with deferred maintenance
While visiting Reno over.a weekend, I wanted to try a few of the local courses so I tried Sunridge in Carson City. When you drive up the the “clubhouse” it is apparent that the course was not well funded. I tried to not let that bother me as the surround views looked nice. I paired my $30 fee jumped into my cart and headed toward the 1st tee.
I noticed the cart attached ball washer was empty, the plastic display sign at the top of the windshield was cracked and brown (almost fell off), and the cart could have used a bath. As I drove from hole to hole, I noticed the same deferred maintenance at the tee boxes, cart paths, and rough. Perhaps the course manger should assign maintenance staff to trip the weeks along the cart path, maintain the tee boxes, and mow the rough? Also, the “sand traps” didn’t it appear to have much sand, but plenty of small gravel. And the traps I checked had not been maintained in awhile. Hummmm...
Otherwise, looking at the broader view of the course, it was nice. As you can see from the pics, there are some wide fairways, nice greens, and cool elevation changes. NOTE: high handicap golfer need to bring extra balls.
So ,would I return? Probably if the deferred maintenance was addressed.

To bad a twosome held up the course!
Nice course fun to play this time the greens were smooth but slow. Had the twosome let us through it would have been a nice day. Giving his lady lessons on the course made for everyone behind to wait! No Marshall!
