About
Located justhalf-hour drive from both Lake Tahoe and Reno, Sunridge Golf Club features monster holes and mammoth lakes. The 669-yards par 5 11th - the longest hole in the scenic High Sierras region and then some - draws your attention as soon as you look at the scorecard. But the 26 acres of water on the golf course will probably provide more challenge and thrills.
There's also a hole with a 300-foot drop from the tee to the fairway (No. 14), a tiny par 3 19th bet-decider hole and a ton of driveable par 4s that almost beg for you to go for it. As a bonus, Sunridge Golf Club's green fees wow many vacationers used to Tahoe pricing.

Golfer Reviews
sneaky tough
There is a reason the slope rating is so high. A good amount of target golf here with some greens extremely well protected by water/bunkers/hazard areas. Fairways not perfect but overall good. Greens fair speed. Dramatic elevation changes. One hole (14) was taken out of play by mudslide and another damaged by the same but they did have a 19th hole on the course so still played 18. Very friendly staff and gave me and buddy replay for $20!
Unique and Fun
We knew going in that this course would not be anything like what we usually play. We had a blast. Only disappointment was not being able to play hole #14, would've liked to experience that, but Mother Nature had her way before we got there.
Staff is friendly
We had great weather! Friendly staff.
The one bummer was I went onto golf now to purchase for 3 people and only selected 1 person, it would not allow me to amend it.....i wound up having to order a 2nd deal so I was charged 2 service charges. Not the courses fault, but definitely not easy to fix thru golf.now.
Too Difficult
The course was in good shape and a good value for the money. The only drawback was the difficulty of the front nine. All three golfers in the group are around a 20 handicap and over 65 years of age. Hence we are not as long as we used to be or, sadly not as accurate either. The tightness of the front nine holes was just too much for us.
On the other hand, the back nine, with it's tremendous elevation changes seemed to play much easier.
Overall, through no fault of the course or the staff, it was just too demanding for our skill level.
I would recommend the course to 15 and under handicappers. Higher handicappers will struggle.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful which made a tough day on the course more bearable.
Great fun course
Course is hard for average golfers. In great shape and a lot of fun.
Fun coarse
fun to play and very challenging to play. Has great views and lots of wildlife. Due to severe elevation changes and length of coarse it would be very very difficult to walk this coarse. but we recommend this coarse to all our friends.
Sunridge Golf has change dramatically
The course is in great shape. The last time I played the course it was so bad that the 18th fairway barely had any grass left on it. There must be new owners at this course, the condition of the course has changed 110% for the good. The holes on this course have character. They are fun to play!!!
Linx Style Golf
It was awesome, it was raining all day and they kept the course open, it felt like the british open. the course is in great shape for the most part just the 14th hole is shut down, and on the green there was some plants or some kind of something but was still a great corse to golf. i will be back again, a few times!
Beautiful views, challenging course
The course was very challenging for a 15 handicap. Lots of elevation changes and water to deal with. When you finish you feel like you've accomplished something. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Played front nine twice
This is a fun course, I would recommend playing this course. I would have liked to have played the back nine also. Very friendly staff! Some holes are very challenging!
Great find in Minden/Carson area
Course has undergone some nice changes. Great looking track. Challenging from the get go. Enjoyable round, but too bad for the recent storm damage. Forced to play Front 9 twice. Still worth it and will be back! :-D
Support this course
Great track. I don't know why it's so cheap! I hope it gets enough play to survive. The green fees should be higher in my opinion ,but I'm not complaining.
Fairways 14-17, great features
These 4 fairways are great. All four are high up a mountain with 100ft or more drops. This is an awesome course. The weather was warm with a nice cool breeze. This is our second time here and it wont be the last. We vacation to South Lake Tahoe and it is worth every penny to travel here to play. We had plenty of time to play, no rush, and everyone is spread out so no need to hurry.
What a ride !!!
Don't even think about walking this course, Many of the holes are breathtaking and include steep elevation changes. Lots of fun, friendly helpful staff, Great vista's and challenging from all tee's.
Fairways not country club condition but very playable. Rough was long but fair. Some traps
are being allowed to return to nature and not
maintained, others were fine.
Awesome design, rough fairways
The layout of this course is amazing. Very challenging, lots of elevation changes and lots of water. The only negative is the condition of the fairways. It was like playing at Kiley Ranch in Spanish Springs. Hard in some area and very muddy in others. I wouldn't say all 18 were in bad conditions. Just 1/3 of the holes. Overall I really liked the course. Very friendly staff and fairly quick play. Oh and there were a few holes where we had to walk up a steep flight of stairs. Might not be great for some seniors.
under appreciated, great bargain golf
fun course, great value! 14-18 are jaw dropping. lots of carry shots. definitely target golf, but so much fun!
the only negative is the limited amenities (no beer cart, limited food and beverage at spartan clubhouse/pro shop trailer).
I almost hate to recommend it as the current pace of play is about 3 1/2 hours!
Great Course!
This is a great course! Open play, challenging holes and very challenging greens. Conditions are excellent and the design offered enough change of pace holes to keep me guessing. This is the second course I've played in Carson City and is now first on my list! Well done...
course blew me away
Beautiful course, when we arrived the clubhouse guys were not very customer friendly, no course info. Once out on the course all good except for the increasing wind (Play Early!!) There were some holes that had blind shots, so you had to guess where to hit then hope for the best. All in all fun time.
Fun course but watch your time of day to play
We played starting at around 1PM. The wind was too challenging and apparantly everyone but us knows that in the afternoon, the winds in the Carson Valley are better suited for windsurfing than for golf. Course employees are very friendly and they do everything within their power to make this a positive experience.
Play this course in the morning before the winds pick up.
Great track
Excellent course in very good condition. Fun and very challenging. Elevated tee's with great views of the area. Cannot wait to come back and golf the course again.
