Los Lagos
The greens were sanded and nobody informed us of this condition. Better than fair chance we would have played elsewhere had we would have known.
Know what you’re getting and it won’t disappoint
This is a perfectly average muni course that suffers from the same problems as the rest of the Bay Area, tight quarters and homelessness.
The course itself is nice enough. Green fairways, decent tee boxes and greens that roll true enough (albeit slower than putting on a shag carpet). The course is very short which creates pace of play problems as several par fours you have to wait for the group ahead of you to clear a green as they are drivable.
The biggest problem are the homeless that live around the course. It is no uncommon to see them walking the course so you are best off leaving valuables in your car or in your pockets so they don’t get swiped.
That said, it’s still a surprisingly difficult track as it’s fairly tight and it’s shortness can lure you into trouble as you go for greens that you would be better off laying up on. I play here every now and then when I can’t get in somewhere else.
A good value
An executive course with several challenging holes. Usually the deals offered include a cart. The course is walkable though. However there are some holes separated by long distances from the green to the next tee.
lagos
I enjoy playing this course, it is fairly easy and the value is truly remarkable.
The greens are always in excellent condition.
The layout is pretty good, there are more than the usual number or par threes, making the slope rating low.
But a great course anyway.
Unsecured Golf course, Vandalism on Golf car!
Golfer be aware of the security!
Lost wallet, car key, & cell phone as someone actually stolen my golf car @ hole 6 when everyone were focusing on the green. It's really really out of ordinary that this kind of incidence could happened in a "should be" secured golf course! Despite the golf shop personnels & marshals has been helpful to retrieve the golf set & cell phone (iPhone was dumped in the grass), I still lost my car key & $100's. Worse fo all, I ruined my day & gave me nightmare afterward, & I am not sure whether I would ever feel comfortable & secure to play golf with Golf car any more!
They needs to institute security measure to make the place safe & secure & warn golfer if there is vandalism risk when it's closed to bike/walk trail.
I am still at grief now after greater 24 hrs. as I need to replace my expensive car key at a a steep cost.
Best muni course in Bay Area for the $ w/ cart
Los Lagos uses San Jose’s recycled water and stays lush and green all year round and yes there are some area that may not
Be green but again don’t hit it there and your will be fine. For the value with a cart and a full 18 that is intermediate in its challenge this has to be one of the best muni courses in the. Bay Area as conditions were a B+ greens would be better if everyone repaired thier divots !! But greens need some attention but overall always a great time well worth it
Great golf in san jose
Los lagos is a great test of golf. The greens are true and contoured and fast. The amazing layout of 5 par 5s and 9 par 3s. But don't let this par 65 foul u...the rough is a test
Covid-19
“With COVID-19 in all” This course has No organization. This business needs leadership!!!! Had to ask for a refund.
Cart time
I recommend dont play after 4pm especially if using cart, they come at 7:45 at least 1hr before darkness and take your cart away, kinda sucks when you're having a good round going on and you just hit a great drive on 18, then the cart police come, staff must be afraid of the dark, this happened years ago before all this Cov crap too,I just forgot about it, I warned the guys that I was playing with on 16 that we got to hurry up, there were slow n tired walkers in front of us, that didn't help, lets just say these guys were in shock..lol.. not, this needs to change, its rude..definitely not gentlemen like..period!
Los Lagos
Great maintained course, really fun to play on, posed some challenges but easy to play, greens are nice. Marshall kicks everyone off at 7:45pm regardless of the sunset at 8:30pm And comes around, grabs the flags the flags as you are finishing the hole. But besides that I had a great time playing this course.
Watch out for the rough
9 par 3 s... and the greens are really hard... 5 par 5s... all birdiable
Great test .... executive but pleasant...
Don't go in the rough for u will regret it.... hardest rough in town.
The course is in great condition..
It was a wonderful experience after this quarantine , it was icing on the cake, and I love the new putting rules.
Thanks for Scot Hathaway, GM of the golf course continue following up with my case as well proving the good will certificates. At least we can see the golf course trying to manage the case at its best.
Sincerely hope they can put some security measure to make sure this will not happen again.
