Golfer Reviews
Great course and challenge.
It was my first time playing this course, but it won't be the last. The practice area was very nice and in good condition. The tee boxes were immaculate as it was all the way to the greens which were quite receptive. The course is challenging, but fair with a good set of tees based on your skill level. The only downside was a foursome in front of us who would never let us play through as we were a twosome. Most of the day, we arrived to the tee box before they finished teeing off. A Marshall on the course could have potentially assisted in this matter. Truly enjoyed the overall experience at Brickshire.
Challenging course on a busy day
Brickshire presents a well maintained and challenging course for most levels of play. The internet special this weekend made for an extra busy course with backups at most tee boxes as slower player groups crowded the course on an overcast day. Great play overall as the course has some challenging holes and a few deceptive par threes. Overall I would recommend anyone who has not played Brickshire to give it a try. The staff is very friendly and the clubhouse grill has a good selection that isn’t overpriced.
Poor organization
Had a tee time as single for 10:50 on Saturday. Checked in expected to be paired up but was not. Was told by person at the front desk I was good to go. Went to first tee at my tee time and was off. Turns out they put me out as a single in the middle of 4 person scramble tournament. A single in the middle of that was a disaster pace of play wise. A marshall tried to move me ahead which I appreciate but I was way too rushed and could not enjoy the round. Eventually quit after 12 holes. Wish they would have made me aware of the tournament. instead of sending me out in the middle of it.
First time playing and I’ll be back!
I’m fairly new to the Richmond area and still exploring new courses. Got a great Hot Deal at Brickshire and was excited to check it out. Everything was great right from the start with a friendly, well-organized and accommodating staff. The course was in great shape with am interesting and challenging layout. I loved the two almost driveable par fours that temp you to go for it. Greens were in great condition and the sand traps were decent, which I was concerned about from other reviews. Overall, it was a great round and I can’t wait to play it again, now that I’m familiar with the layout!
Good course, bad bunkers
Course was in good shape except for the bunkers. They were hard and unkempt and because the course has so many, they were impossible to avoid. I will play here again and hope that some maintenance has been done.
Golf at Brickshire 6/28/23
This was my second time playing here and the course is well maintained has a challenging layout which is fun to play. I will definitely be back
Great course, nice layout, definitely will play again!
Enjoyed my first time out at Brickshire — course was in very good shape and greens were true and rolling well. Nice mix of hole layouts, with some very challenging ones and tough par 3’s. The guy in the pro shop went out of his way to write down where to place tee shots on four or five holes that have serious slope to the fairways — that was a big help and appreciated! I’ll play here again for sure
Great fun day at Brickshire
Beautiful course. Very challenging. Car path only made it somewhat grueling but otherwise it is a great course!!!
Great round
Course was in very good shape. Greens were excellent and pace of play was fantastic.
A tough gem
Look, 244 yard par 3’s? Yes please!
Haven’t played it in a lot of years, so decided to get a change of pace from my home course. Brickshire is right down the street from the glorious nightmare that is Royal New Kent. They share a couple similarities in blind shots, undulating fairways that you MUST get your ball into the right place or it’s over for that hole.
The conditions were perfect. So much variety in the course, some par 4 holes are long and some are short. You have to think your way around this course. 18 is a fantastic hole, a great finishing green that dares you to try to reach in two. Don’t do it. It’s an easy birdie hole if you take the right approach.
Cheers, Logan, thanks for letting me wait out that storm while on 9th tee.
Course is in great shape from tee boxes to the greens!
