Azalea Sands Golf Course

Overall , this is a great course, especially for the money. Staff was awesome and the course is very self explainable, which is great for someone out of town. I would certainly recommend playing This course..

I played this course five years ago for the first time. Saw that new management took over so I wanted to check out the improvements. Definitely could notice the difference and course condition improvements. Tee boxes could use some TLC but fairways and greens were perfect considering it rained heavy overnight. My only complaint is that at the turn the starter would not let me continue as a single and proceeded to let too many groups out the back 9 earlier. It was cart path only play so this had four foursomes stacked up on #10. I waited 35 min to continue play after finishing the front 9 in under two hours. In the end I had to stop playing at the 4.5 hour mark with four holes play to get back to my wife and son. Really disappointed in the starter not managing this better in the morning when he decided to send too many groups out the back. Should have been more considerate to the early tee times rather than overbooking. Most people that book early want to finish early not play for 5+ hours when you’re the 1st or 2nd group out for the morning.

Nice greens. Course is in decent shape. Way overbooked, so pace of play was ridiculously slow. Two guys in front of us playing out of one bag.

Course is not worth the price. It's is in mediocre condition. Most greens were poor, a couple were unplayable. The course has poor drainage, so there is plenty of standing water.

Should change the name to Azalea Sands and Water - I seem to find more water than sand that day :)

We played a threesome of beginners and enjoyed the course. The water hazards took many of our balls and the sand traps guarding the greens were challenging. The clubhouse was comfortable and we enjoyed a sandwiches. Especially unique was the lounge area with a bookcase full of golf books spanning the ages.

Fun course for layup challenges! Staff very friendly!

Suppose to be under new ownership, a lot of over seeding and doing work on course. Doesn’t effect play. Real nice practice course or to to out and have fun! Less that $40.

Fun course in fairly good shape. Staff very nice from the beverage cart to the starter!

Coming from a manger at a country club the Course is In pretty good shape yes the greens are shaggy but unless you pay 100$ Plus down here your going to get that. 2 greens were bad some rough spots here and there again unless you spend the $$$ or play at a high end country club that’s what your getting it was a great value pace of play was a bit of a issue on the back nine but that’s not the courses fault I will say 90 degrees and having absolutely no ice water on the course is a pretty big no no a employee did come out and offer us a small water bottle which was great but to not have water stations on the course is unacceptable.

I would definitely play there again

Played on Friday afternoon. Threesome finished in 3 hours 15 minutes. Never held up or pushed. Conditions were very good. Although greens were smooth and well maintained, they were slow. Overall, a nice course at a good price.

Who ever took over the course is doing a great job renovating!!! Keep it up!!!
