North Murtle golf
Azalea Sands golf is that well maintained course, staff was friendly round moved at a good pace and greens rolled true. I would definitely recommend! great value for the price
Nice Short Course
Nice course for working on your short game with many surprises regarding the water. The course is flat and I wish they would allow you to walk it is very walkable.
.
Ok course
Played this course for the first time based on the location from where I was staying in North Myrtle Beach. The layout was ok and water was positioned in key places on the holes that had it. The greens were sloooooow. I couldn’t get used to the slow putting the entire round. I enjoyed myself overall. I just wanted to get out and play.
Watch for mowers!
Not sure why we had grounds crew and mowers on every other hole during our 11am tee time. We had interruptions the entire 4 hr round. Even the practice green had a guy rolling it while golfers wajted nearby.
Did I mention this was my 11am TEE TIME
One hole was under repair (no mention from pro shop). We actually putted into a nade up hole in front of the green.
hitting nets substitute for not having a range. They were old, but served the purpose to warmup.
I also found out my golf GPS was outdated and useless when the course was revamped the other year. 150 yd markers were helpful.
I won't go into some of the drainage since the area got plenty of rain recently.
PROS: Discount on Golf pass, newer golf carts, can bring your own refreshments. Water areas, ponds marked. Decent bunkers. Helpful staff
CONS: Maintenance underway with fairway mowers everywhere. There was no rain that morning, why wait til golfers came??? One hole under repair meant putting on the green approach grass (think Plinko board putting here)
#10 Green Under Repair
I had a great round on this Myrtle Beach area golf course. The staff was great and the course was in pretty good shape. The only issue was the #10 green was under repair. We were not made aware of that by the starter...but overall..two thumbs up.
Good time
I shot a 76 from the gold tees, really enjoyed the course. Could use a few more flags to mark water hazards, couldn't really tell whether water crossed entire fairway or not. It's not a complaint, just a suggestion. As a whole, I would definitely recommend this course to anyone wanting to have a great day of golf.
Needs work
Needs lots of work before I would recommend this course to others.
Very nice course
Enjoyed the experience, a very nice balance of mental and physical challenges.
68 yr old man
The pace of play was extremely slow but that's not the courses fault. Some people blame the course for slow play, they forget how bad they probably were when they started. Even the PGA players take 6 hrs to play a round, calm down and enjoy the day, every day on a golf course is a great day. The bag boys were courteous and the pro shop was great. Course in good shape.
Great place to play
We were on vacation and I took my boys with me which they played FREE which was amazing because it showed how much they care about the future of the sport and making it financially feasible for a parent to have some quality time with their kids. The course was beautiful and challenging and worth playing on at least once. If I ever find myself in the area again, I will definitely play here again!
Great Course, Scary Mutant Squirrels
Course plays well and very straight. Narrow fairways create a slight challenge. Now the squirrels that live throughout the course are something else. They stare deep into your soul and can sniff out a single grain of salt from a lays bag of chips left behind from the last victim. My buddy and I were lucky enough to not get attacked, now the single golfer riding behind us…not so much. As we stood on the next tee box we looked back and witnessed a grown man in distress. He drove the cart in circles just to live another day. Golf balls were being toss out of the cart at the massive monster with no desired effect. The beast eventually ran off and the single golfer rode off into the fairway and was never seen again….They also have really nice tee boxes.
