Azalea Sands Golf Course

By no means a lush golf course. Lots of sparse areas. Very hard soil. Greens were ok. Pace was just ok. Played behind a 5some.

This is a great course for beginners, not to much trouble off tees and pretty open. My only problem is we had a couple in front of us taking there sweet time and hitting 2 balls a piece. Really slowed down pace of play.

They really upgraded the condition particularly the greens and fairways

This was just the right course for our level of play. Plenty of water and sand hazards, but not overwhelming.

The score cards yardage were significantly different than actual yardage on the course. No driving range for those who may want that.

The staff was great and we had a good time at this course.

Arrived shortly before a bachelor's party of 30 were to play and got moved to the tee box a little early. Everyone at this course was awesome.

Course is just difficult enough to make you think about shots. Would definitely play again. The only downside is no range just hitting nets.

Greens were fairly smooth although covered in clumps of grass from mowing. Some looked burnt out. Fairways were rough and looked like they needed weed killer and fertilized. The redesign was good with adding waste bunkers. Attention really needed on tee boxes. some so hard you could hardly get a tee in the ground.

We used the course as a warm up after being out of the game awhile. It did serve that purpose.

They get a lot play and the course shows it. Amazingly the greens are very good

They stacked tee times. Had 5 groups go out ahead of us after we were supposed to tee off. Took 5.5 hours. MIIIIINNNGGYAAAA

Some greens had two different kinds of grass on them made them bumpy and it was weird the Pro shop did not have any tees

Upon arrival the staff was very nice to me and my son. The putting green was rough but once we started the rest of the course was in decent shape. A fun layout with lots of water and pretty flat.

Starter let an eightsome out ahead of us. Said I'm not supposed to allow it, but did it anyway. Enough said.

As we pulled up to drop our bags off before our round, the bag attendant was extremely short with us as we tried to figure out where to put our bags. We were trying to make it easier on him, but he was terse and short-tempered. When they were finally loaded onto a cart, we waited to find out when we could proceed to the first tee. Another member of the bag staff openly handed a wad of cash to the main attendant and loudly asked how much we had tipped. When he said that we had not, he said “make them wait…they aren’t going now.”

My son-in-law worked for 8 years at golf clubs in NJ as a caddie and bag attendant and said it is customary to tip bag room staff at the end of a round. However, it is not obligatory AND YOU NEVER PRESSURE THE GOLFER TO GIVE THEM ANYTHING. This attendant was extremely rude, made the entire experience uncomfortable and I would not recommend this club to anyone.

Online pictures did not match the course . Do not mind paying if course is worth the value. Ran into another golfer and was asked did I purchase the discount card that included one round of golf and future discounts. I replied I never was presented the opportunity. Very concerning. Did not enjoy the round. Numerous holes under repair.
