Good time
Fun course. Girls at the bar we very friendly and welcoming. And how could you not love the puppy!
Nice layout course in relatively decent shape. Great pace for the first 12 holes as we started are round on #10 with no one ahead of us. Slowed down but still steady. Would play again
Good times spring break
My son played this with his girlfriend and had a great time on the course; would return again. Staff was friendly; only issues were stuck behind a slow player.
You got what you got
Used GolfNow Rewards to purchase a cheap round with a few buddies. Did not realize a tournament was going on at the same time. Who puts on a tournament on a Saturday morning in peak season in NMB? They're known to overbook but a tournament??? However, we did play for practically nothing and the clubhouse and bar staff were very friendly. Course conditions were okay. Just reconfirms for me, when you play Azalea Sands, you got what you got.
Azalea Sands
Staff was courteous and friendly… course was in average shape, but they’re doing some good reno work can’t wait for the recovery when they’re done… has always been a good deal
Didn’t Even Get Out
Showed up a half hour before our tee time, walked into the clubhouse into a storm full of chaos. They had a Juniors tournament going on and didn’t have carts for players showing up for their tee time. Guy working behind the desk couldn’t tell us when we were going to be able to start playing and kept telling everyone that he was quitting after today. New owners only care about the bottom line. Only had one person outside taking care of the few carts that were coming in. Talked to a local who recommended a different and way better course. From what I saw on a different rental bag the clubs provided were not even a full set.
Lots of water
Depends on your level of golf. Lots of water. Nets for warm up could be cleaned up. Putting green a plus. Friendly pro shop staff and snack bar staff. Clean facilities. Overall enjoyable and good value. Starter was not friendly to us, did not tell us who we were paired with and sent them out ahead of us even though we were right behind them.
Azalea Sands
The course overall is average. The bathrooms on the course are in terrible condition. They are filthy and in ill repair. Disgusting condition.
We selected Azalea Sands due to the forward tees. My wife generally hits her tee shots approximately 120yds. With the most forward tees she was able to play her own shots on each hole which we all know makes golf more enjoyable. Is Azalea Sands the best maintained course in Myrtle Beach? Of course not. But it is worth the price we paid when comparing it to other courses in the area. Now in our 50s, the number one thing we look for is playability. The greens were consistent, the tee boxes were good and we enjoyed a pace of play that saw us play 18 holes in just under 4hrs. If your wife, or you little one enjoys the game, it's worth a morning, or afternoon, to play "the Sands".
Decent
Overall course maintenance was minimal. Almost ever hole needed to be changed as cup edges were damaged.
Very rough cart paths.
Minimal pro shop inventory.
Friendly staff and good clubhouse food
Not bad but seen better.
Having not been here since ownership change and on vacation was anxious to see if ownership change improved anything. Staff was friendly and course was marginally better than before but not quite as nice as others we've play this week. Couple they were pairing us with were late so we were let out as a twosome and sent out to the back nine first, which was great and we finished that nine in less than 2 hours but at the turn we got stuck behind a foursome that never once offered for us to play through and a couple of the players were essentially hackers,;one actually playing in sandals, so the second nine took us over 3 hours (ugh). Perhaps a ranger or the starter realizing we were coming off theback could have but us in front of them. All that being said I would give them another chance sometime as I liked the layout.
Great Course for all Abilities.
Very Nice Course-friendly staff, well maintained, good value!
