Much better than I remember
They have done numerous renovations to this course since my last visit including the clubhouse. Apparently they have spent between 1.2 & 2 million $ on this work depending on who you talk too: They have switched the nines and done a lot of work on the landscaping. The only negative was the very dry fairways but that is mostly due to our recent Grand Strand weather. The local rate we received was very reasonable.
Pace of Play
the pace of play was VERY, VERY, slow. did i say/write VERY? i understand the course was busy and it was a great day to be outside, but folks in front of us need to read the rules/suggestions of golf. they would stop between the greens and the carts and hold a conversation. golfers should play "ready golf" and be ready to step up to the tee when it's their turn. the folks would sit in the cart, then select their club, then go back to/in the cart for their ball and..................whew, what a mess! otherwise it was a great day to be outside.
Dog Track
This course was in terrible shape. I can honestly say that all four of us said it was the worse course we have ever played on. I know it was Feb. and the grass was dormant and very flat and almost like plain dirt., but all of the fairways were brown dormant grass. You wanted your ball to go out into the rough so you would have pine straw or a little rough to have something to hit off off. Don't waste your money.
