Azalea Sands Golf Course

I want to be balanced in my review of this course. I've played it when in MB two years ago and enjoyed my rounds at the course. The course was just under new ownership and the clubhouse under renovations which looks great. I also see practice nets which is also a great addition due to the lack of space for a practice range. The fairways were not overseeded like other courses which I played so they were different playing off of dead dormant grass and didn't look real nice. I believe they were green in the winters I've played them before. The greens and bunkers were in good shape but I believe the course needs some good maintainance and work which hopefully will come in the future. The location is nice and for the price I have played other courses in the area that were in much better condition.

Fairways brown and hard. Cart paths need much repair.

Personnel were very friendly and the club house was very nice and clean.

Playing conditions were bad. New superintendent is needed!

Not very busy the day I played as a single. Friendly staff and met up with nice folks. Course was ok with great rolled fast greens. Bunkers were good with strange rake positions in the center. My gps didn’t work there and water hazards required laying up off the tee.

No overseeding of fairways which left poor lies. Maintenance crew has done a good job last couple of years to bring the course playability up to good standards

The individual added to our threesome was rude and not accepting of players that had not played in quite a while. The employee that came to our group and said we disrupted play by spending too much time in the bar between 9 and 10 had no clue. We spent 10 minutes eating hotdog and soup. We had to wait at ten because 2 people were on the tee and waited 5 minutes for the others two of the foursome. We waited at every tee for the back 9 for that group to get far enough away for us to hit safely.

I doubt we or our renters will ever return to azalea.
