Eagle Nest Golf Club
About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Thumbs up
Great course. My brother and I drove down from Philly on Saturday 3-04-23 and booked a tee at Eagles Nest. What a great challenging course.. I would definitely suggest this course to any of my friends who come down to Myrtle Beach.
Great day.
First of all I want to explain the four stars for course conditions. It is spring time and many different things come into play. I don't think much could be done yet to improve the course. They clearly have been working on the course, and it shows. The staff could not be more friendly or helpful. Brand new carts were a pleasant surprise and added to a pleasant day of golf. The couple we were paired with were fun to play with. A concentration on pace of play made the round feel more normal when compared to the sit and wait style of some other courses. A great fun round at a very fair price.
Good track, but very wet and muddy.
Nice layout.
Make sure there's been no rain for a week. Muddy
Greens were very grassy but extremely slow.
No grass on fairways. Everything was either mud or dormant grass. Wait until later in the spring.
Low price but the golf course wasn’t in great shape.
The fairways were very dry and there was also a lot of sand on the greens.
Finally, the pacing was very slow. You can do better.
Good value, nice course
Fun course to play; good variety of holes. Played blue tees, kept it challenging. Greens were just medium speed; could've been faster. Good shape, though.
Nice but no grass on fairways.
Played for $45 each. A little High considering there was no grass on fairways. Tees were good. Greens were green but REALLY slow. Nice layout for first time. Maybe another day. Not at $45 for same conditions.
Not very good
First time playing here and hopefully conditions get better as the year goes by. From tee to green the course was in terrible shape and the cart paths were either dirt or mud. I played two other courses in the area the same week and they were perfect. I would have given this course a one star rating but the staff was nice and that counts for something.
Thank you for leaving a review. Eagle Nest doesn’t overseed fairways to help maintain and protect the greens from Poa Annua. Poa Annua increases the bumps on the greens. Bermuda is the natural grass for the area which is completely different from bent grass and other Northern grasses. The North Myrtle Beach area has Bermuda grass which grows late March thru late November. In the winter months Bermuda goes dormant and is not dead!! We’re sorry for the tight lies during the winter season but we need to protect the most import thing, which is our greens. The other thing, we try to educate golfers about grain in the Bermuda grass greens, they produce a smooth roll down grain and slower roll into the grain. The grain usually grows towards the setting sun. I hope that explains the conditions and Bermuda. There are a couple of exclusive Myrtle Beach courses which do the same thing!!
Hi. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. Your feedback about the course is important to us. We are working to get everything up to par. We have projects ongoing to recover the fairways and greens. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing our course. We hope to see you again soon.
Not too good
I would pass on playing this course. From the tees to the greens, nothing was in good condition. I really wish I could say nice things but it was in terrible shape. The cart paths were either dirt or mud. I played other courses in the area in the same week that were perfect. I would have given it one star but the staff was friendly and that counts for something.
Hello, We appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We would love to know how we can earn those last two stars next time! Thanks for playing Eagle Nest Golf Club.
Nice value & layout for price & conditions
Nice challenge from the blue tees. Tee boxes fine, fairways a little thin but playable, greens held but were medium speed at best. (They were in good shape, though). Nice staff in pro shop. Practice facility good enough (grass to hit off, range balls good, etc.)
Would play again. Pace was decent.
Nice course but early in growing season
Like the layout. Try to play here couple times a year. Little early - grass thin on fairways. April should be much better. Very fair layout.

Good Course Value
Reasonable course in terms of conditions, course layout, and challenging holes. Cart paths are gravel, but well maintained. Nice experience for the money.
