About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Pre Thanksgiving
Greens were a little slower than putting green but rolled true. Over seeded with rye and course was wet but very playable
Pace of play was slow ; however for a Saturday and a warm beautiful day it was expected. Overall course was in fairly good shape for mid November. They are making improvements.
Poor Service
The course was actually not a 4 star compared to other 4 star courses we played this week. Fairways and sand traps were in fair condition. greens were in good shape. I was not impressed when we heard a horn 45 minutes before dark. Little did we know the horn was telling us to leave the course. We still had 2 holes to play and lots of daylight to finish. The ranger showed up telling us to leave the course. No one told us there was a cut off time or even what the horn meant. We ignored the ranger and finished in lots of time before dark. I think someone wanted to get home. Our playing partners were very angry.

Good value for the money
The course had a few interesting holes and was in fair condition for this time of year.

Decent Course
The weather was supposed to be clear and sunny, even called the course prior to round, their radar showed clear. It rained on and off for entire round.
Course was in decent condition. Enjoyed having GPS on cart. Played round in four hours, which I consider reasonable.
Would play here again.

Great Course and Staff
We were introduced to Eagle Nest this past spring while in Myrtle Beach. It became our favourite.
Staff is very friendly. Course is in great shape, especially the greens. It is our understanding that there is a new course superintendent.
While we played other courses this spring, we have only played Eagle Nest during our current stay in Myrtle Beach.
Greens were lightning fast which made the course very challenging and probably detracted from the overall playability. Besides the below average scores from average golfers, it was a fun course.
