Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Thank you for leaving a review. Eagle Nest doesn’t overseed fairways to help maintain and protect the greens from Poa Annua. Poa Annua increases the bumps on the greens. Bermuda is the natural grass for the area which is completely different from bent grass and other Northern grasses. The North Myrtle Beach area has Bermuda grass which grows late March thru late November. In the winter months Bermuda goes dormant and is not dead!! We’re sorry for the tight lies during the winter season but we need to protect the most import thing, which is our greens. The other thing, we try to educate golfers about grain in the Bermuda grass greens, they produce a smooth roll down grain and slower roll into the grain. The grain usually grows towards the setting sun. I hope that explains the conditions and Bermuda. There are a couple of exclusive Myrtle Beach courses which do the same thing!!

Good Course Value

Reasonable course in terms of conditions, course layout, and challenging holes. Cart paths are gravel, but well maintained. Nice experience for the money.

Carolina Golf at its finest!

When you pull up to the Clubhouse at Eagles Nest you get the feeling you are at a premier course. The track is fair, you can play risk-reward or just tee to green. Very enjoyable.

Course was really wet. Would be Great when a little drier and in the summer season.

Staff is really friendly. Cart was brought to my car as soon as I arrived. Starter got me right out. Pro shop answered all my questions. That could not have been any better. Course was EXTREMELY wet - cart path only. Nice layout. Hopefully come back again when course is drier. Course is very fair and gives you room off the tee. Hopefully get back here sometime.

Annoyed at price to play on Saturday 1/28 with Locals Card

I was very ANNOYED by the rate I was given to Play 9 holes on Saturday 1/28/23 as a Locals Discount card holder $35.00, when I have always been given. $25.00 charge for those same 9 holes every other time. So I went to Valley East and played for $30.00 !

But when I asked why, the scheduler would only say that it was out of their hands ! That’s what it was listed at ! Take it or leave it !

So I went else where !

Nice open course

For time of year & compared to couple other area courses, was in decent condition, especially for the price - though some recent drainage work has yet to grow over. Can be played either very long, or shorter for old dudes like me. Course is not overly difficult, fair amount of water & traps. Hole placements were deceptively challenging. Staff were all very friendly & pro shop had some unique reasonably priced clothing. Will likely return next time I'm in North MB.

Great value. friendly staff.

Played the day after a ton of rain so it was pretty flooded but take that away and it would be in great shape for a cheap price

Too tight of lies

Grass was way too short in the fairways, extremely tight lies, not enjoyable to play. Have been there in the spring on numerous occasions and never had those conditions. Must note, however, I played 3 other area courses that week and grass played well at all three.

Not Bad

Played Eagle Nest twice in early morning. We were second group out, a two-some. Finished 18 holes in less than 3 hours. Rough and fairways are all brown. Greens are actually also brown but have been painted green. Greens ran well. Not bad for the money.

Great golf course in super condition for winter golf! Nice layout and holes 16, 17 and 18 were voted some of the best holes in the Grand Strand! Staff was awesome! Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and will definitely be back again! Highly recommend!
