Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Lowest Round

Course overall in very good shape. There was some rain the night before so there were some soft spots particularly in front of the greens. The greens were in great shape and putted true. They usually do not double book off the back 9 so it is open at the turn if you are first off. Staff is great.

Great bargain

Nice course for the money. Very affordable. Course maintenance could improve. Lots of soil piled up in random areas of the course. The course staff was amazing and funny. Very accommodating. For the average golfer nice big fairways. Lots of sand and water. Had a great time.

Getting a little pricey

Eagle’s Nest has done some nice renovations, but 55$ a person is steep. The greens and fairways are still being fixed with drainage and the pace of play was dreadfully slow. Took over 4 and a half hours to play 18 on a Friday at 10:00 that was half booked. It’s a nice course that we have played dozens of times but at a price much closer to 40$. Won’t be back for a while

Not bad

Not a bad course. Many of the greens were sanded so putting wasn't that great on them and speed and lines were inconsistent.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Over all, not a bad course to play at all.

I'm glad I played it.

Excellent neighborhood course

Nice tree lined course, difficulty varies from hole to hole. Exciting water carry holes to long drive holes. Staff is extremely friendly real nice club house with the availability for drinks and food. My favorite about this course is the newly installed golf GPS on all carts.

Laid back

I don’t want to say it was easy, because golf never is, but if you’re a high handicap, you will love this place. Hazards are present but are usually tucked out of the way. It’s not fancy. The cart paths are mostly dirt. The tee boxes aren’t groomed but they’re fine. The greens were very nice and true to your line. The bunkers seem a little messy but certainly playable. I appreciated that the holes are short, which gives me a chance to get on in reg. I’ll play here every year for sure. They did have one temporary green, but that made for an easy par, and I need all the help I can get there.
