About
Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.
Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Save your money
Booked a 5:45 tee time online needing to play 9 holes only. Basically got charged for 18. Walked in and told gentleman behind desk I had a 5:45 tee time and he looked mad! First question he asked was how many holes did I expect to play? I told him 9 as I knew we could finish well before dark with an hour to spare. Needless to say he was ready to go home and wasn’t happy I was there. Cart attendant was super nice and helpful but guy behind the counter needs to grow up as golfers pay his salary! Greens needed mowing as they were slower than molasses. Very few yardage markers were in place. Fairways weren’t bad considering the recent rains. Golf cart was junk and quit running two different times. For $90 I expect the greens to at least be mowed. Won’t go back!

It had been any years since I last played here. I can't wait to go back. Course is open enough for a few errant shots yet has it challenges that keep you honest. One of my new favorites.

Eagle Nest
Due to dry weather and areation of greens the course wasn't in the condition I usually experience....

Late afternoon 9
Went out to play a quick 9 on a weekday afternoon. Found this course on GolfNow and read some reviews. Only had time for 9, and was told to play back nine.
Course structure (bones) are interesting, BUT....... course is in TERRIBLE shape. Greens hadn't really been mown in several days at least. Yardage markers on most holes are either broken or just missing. Fairways in very rough shape. Plastic lining under some greens starting to show through. Sad actually given the design and layout are interesting, but condition and lack of maintenance just damage the experience. I would not recommend this course until they somehow spend a few million.

Great course layout
My only issue with the course is the cart paths are very dusty. If you are the second cart you and everything with you gets covered in dust.

Basically paid full price to play 9 holes
The front 9 was under construction and the greens were in terrible shape.

Nice course
Nice course location was great, for north myrtle beach area. One major improvement would be upgrade the golf carts they looked 1990 vintage. Also lets get into the 21st century and put GPS on the Carts. For $60.00 green fees you should have GPS. The starter was friendly.
Awesome for beginners!
I definitely recommend this course for beginners! Nice scenery and staff! Had a great time and we will be back!
Golf Trip
Played early May course was in fair condition. A lot of work being done and should be in great shape later on.
Will be back in late October to play.
Could have been better
Round started great. Greeted by gentlemen who brought cart to car and staff inside was friendly for 7am. Fairways were poor at best, greens were mostly good. One of the par 3s was being repaired around the green. Had to ask the workers to move their cart that was in front of the green after our ball hit it and they continued shoveling sand 2 feet away during 2nd shot. Mentioned to gentleman inside after round and rather than apologizing he just said ok he’ll let them know. Probably won’t return
