Located in Little River, S.C., Eagle Nest opened in 1971 and was designed by Golf Course Architect Gene Hamm. The layout is laid out across 250 acres of gently rolling land, rare for a course near Myrtle Beach. The course has been upgraded recently and includes a set of "Perch" tee boxes that play over 8,100 yards, making it the state's longest golf course.

Super senior and player-friendly tee boxes up front have also been installed. This traditional low country layout features not only rolling undulations in it but mature Carolina pines, an abundance of wildlife and beautiful natural landscaping.

Will play again!

Really sorry we didn’t golf this course earlier in our trip. Plenty of doglegs and water to make it challenging. Greens were also challenging. Not just flat like other nearby courses.

Great day for golf

Had an enjoyable round. The greens were in great shape, as well as the fairways. The sun was out which added to the day. Will play again.

Not in great shape

Fairways were in terrible condition. The rough is basically hard pack sand and pine needles. Greens were ok. Pretty slow though. Pace of play was good. Barely anyone at the course.

Friendly staff, friendly course

Nice old boys unloaded the clubs from our trunk, and greeted us warmly. The club maintenence man, who introduced himself as Floyd stopped to take our picture, and directed us to open holes to ease a backup. Flat course, some swamps, good traps.

You get what you pay for here

The layout of the course was ok. The greens were fairly slow. The putting green was nicer. The biggest disappointment were the fairways. The rough was basically rock hard sand covered in pine needles and pinecones. There was a lot of run off sand on the fairways and sometimes you couldn’t tell where the fairway was.

Check In

The facilities were very nice. The starter was very nice. When we checked in we were early as we weren't sure how long it would take to arrive. We were not in any hurry but did tell the man inside the clubhouse we could go at anytime. He was very rude and said you are too early and are not going early because you got a very cheap rate....he was very demeaning to us. I was just trying to talk to him and he walked away and sat down twice. The starter had said he could get us off at 1:00 (instead 1:30). But then he didn't, so when we did go...he said sorry the guy inside is watching me like a hawk and already was upset with me earlier. So this is how they treat people who use Golf now to get a great price. I am calling to cancel our membership in the morning.

Great Course

Played Eagles Nest April 1st. Course was in great shape (not an Aprils Fool) . Greens were very nice, there were a couple that needed help. I’ll definitely play it again!

Nice Course, Challenging Holes

Course was in good conditions, considering mid- March fairway grass. Last three holes are a bit challenging, but playable with some well-placed shots.

Too many cup hol .in the greens@

This is a good course layout, however the greens have too many cup holes make the greens uneven.

No water in any or the ball wash machines. No food at the clubhouse after 3pm, so if you are playing an afternoon 18 holes.you have nothing half to eat.

Washrooms are closed at 5pm so when you finish you round you have no where to go.

Good gold.but not a full service course.

Average condition

Rough had very little dormant grass, fairways were ok, but mostly gold with very little green and not much healthy grass. Greens were in very good shape and somewhat fast, especially from above the whole, but greens are crowned and difficult to negotiate or putt. Best part of course was the bunkers. % hour round, staff was nice , but bar closed at 5:45.
