Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Nice turn around
The course has made a great comeback since last year. All the greens are very puttable and the bunkers have been reconditioned. Some tee boxes and fairways are probably a year off but you will enjoy it more it you play preferred lies.
Great conditions!
Played here last year and they had some temporary greens. The course has done a 180 since then. The greens were in perfect condition. Fairways were firm and the bunkers had been manicured. Happy to see the course closest to me has been given some great attention.
Augustine Golf Course
Some of the tee boxes and fairways are lacking for grass. But, the greens are nice, not very fast though. I'll continue to play there in the coming weeks.
Fairways need help
The greens were in excellent condition but the fairway needs extensive work. Enjoyed the course but not sure if I will return.
The fairways and tee boxes were in bad shape - extensive patches of bare earth. I had a booking problem and the staff resolved it immediately.
First Time
Tee boxes were on good, fringe around greens need work.
Excellent Course, but Needs Watering
Played early on Friday morning and got 18 holes in in 3 1/2 hours. Greens were excellent, but fairways and tee boxes were very hard and needing water. Not a long course, so a lot of target golf given the many creeks and natural areas criss-crossing the course. Previous course knowledge is helpful. Overall, Good. Unfortunately, the course overall had regressed over the past several years. Would play here again, hopefully after the course received some TLC.
This course is in Good Shape
The course is in good shape except for a few tee boxes. I love the layout.
1st Round!
This is a gem in the hills of Virginia. Super helpful staff and extremely friendly to out of state folks. If your ever around the area it’s a must! The course is very well kept. The T Boxes could use some help but it is the dry season. This would definitely be a first pick if we return to the area.
By no means am I a pro golfer or any good but this course was great and fun. We were the first group off the tee for the day and the Marshall let us know the details on the course and gave us fair warning the fairways are Bermuda grass and haven’t fully grown in. The greens were pristine as well. We found the only downfall being that the food and refreshment didn’t open till 8 and our tee time was 0754. The cart girl got to us at 1015 and that was the only time. Other than that, we enjoyed our time out.
Gone for good
The entire course was weeds. Literally. Crabgrass to be exact. There is no way they will ever get this place back into shape, short of tearing it all up and resodding the whole course. Greens were good though. If you don't mind debris everywhere. Also, it's a very difficult driving course. Bring your driving iron if you can.
Worth the drive
Being new to the area I’m willing to “ go the extra mile “ in search of new and challenging courses in the DC area (I recently relocated from So Cal). Shot in the dark here as there’s numerous options closer but am overall glad I did. Weekday round and course was virtually empty.Greens were in great shape although super firm and course itself was generally in B+ condition. I’m really looking forward to the return of rakes returning to all facilities...I can’t really fairly assess conditions although some courses still seem to maintain this feature better than others. All and all I had a good experience and will return in the future
Greens good, the rest, not so much
I wrote a longer review last fall, and was pleased with what I saw. Yesterday, I was dismayed: rough and tee boxes had not been mowed and were all weeds, fairways looked OK but were pretty bare. The greens were in pretty good shape throughout. Bunkers were good as well
We were behind a very slow foursome and there was no effort by the starter/marshal to move them along, so it made a very slow round.
The weekend price, at $80, was too high for the conditions.
Terrrible greens
The greens were in bad shape, as was the course . The pace of play was slow with no ranger to speed the pace of place. For $59 dollars i will go elsewhere.
