Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Worst course ever
$70 on a Monday? Ok no problem! Course must be great.....worst course ever, it was like playing in a swamp and the greens were in bad shape as well, overpriced!!!!
A good layout with risk/reward
A fun course with a good layout. Plenty of thought provoking second shots, and creek crosses a number of holes. Fairways are in great shape - greens are still coming in. Decent pace of play. Sara andvTom, starter and Marshalll, are friendly, courteous and keep things moving.
Great layout average conditions
The course has a great layout and is a lot of fun to play but in general the course isn’t in great shape based on the greens fees. The tee boxes are in pretty bad shape, the fairways have lots of weeds and bare spots. The greens are in better shape than last time I played but still need some work. The staff is super friendly and the General atmosphere Is friendly and welcoming. The value for money is the only issue for me.
Great Layout
Overall a really good course, it was WET and soggy due to the weather and some grass needs to grow in but in a few more weeks it should be in great shape. The staff was really friendly and helpful - only detractor was the bunkers but its rained so much that I dont blame the course
New season at Augustine
Course is getting better. Staff friendly and helpful. Great layout Effective with COVID procedures. Always enjoy the day there.
Augustine Golf course is very organized and follows all health safety rules!
One thing is very evident. The staff and management of Augustine Golf Course were fully prepared and also made sure everybody followed all health safety rules. The golf course is in fine condition considering the wet weather the area has had for the past few days.
Avoid for now
Course has a great layout but the grass has not grown in the fairways or the fringe. I suggest waiting to play this course after mid may.
Great layout. Sparse grass on fairways
Grass is really thin. Sparse around the greens as well. Hopefully aeration is coming soon as well as overseeing. Most course in the area are plush right now.
The course was generally is lousy shape. Much of the grass around the greens was all but nonexistent.
Always fun
Love the layout. Conditions were ok, not as bad as other area courses, but still needs work. Staff was not very friendly.
Eh.
First off, there was no mention of aerated greens before I tee’d off, so I was a bit tee’d off after hole number one. The course is pretty fun and tough and with the greens up to speed, it would be a great municipal course. Not with $70. That’s two rounds walking at UMD’s course which is much better. Of course, down in Stafford there isn’t a lot of choice maybe. The staff was excellent! The starter and pros were awesome. Don’t know if that would make me drive an hour from the DC to play again.
Course
We appreciated the opportunity to play golf on such a beautiful course with the all the fears and restrictions that we are all experiencing at this time in our country. The recommendations and guidelines implemented by club management to ensure the safety and health of the players were excellent while enabling avid golfers to still enjoy their favorite activity. Courses that have closed during this time are missing out on a great opportunity to provide our communities with an excellent venue to enjoy an outside activity that allows for a good amount of physical activity and enjoyment. We plan to play this course again soon. Thanks. Bill
Don't Play Augustine GC in April, 2020
I regret to have to recommend that you don't play Augustine GC in April, 2020 as there is NO GRASS on any of the fairway, the greens were aerated in early April and are mostly sand and they won't tell you any of this unless you ask. Most golfers know this is a Bermuda grass course but they usually over seed in the spring and fall to make it playable. They aren't doing that now and you will find you will be hitting the ball off of essentially dirt and a small amount of dead grass. And because VA has the only golf courses open during the pandemic, they charged us $75 on a weekend and we still had to pay $10 for range balls! Simply not honest or fair. Regrets, G. Colton
Course was in Surpisingly Good Condition
I was pleasantly surprised that the course was in such good condition. It has been five years or more since I played it, and I had heard that the fairways were fine but the greens were not. We had to play the front nine twice because the greens on the back nine were being aerated. The front nine greens had been aerated recently. Nevertheless, for the most part the greens rolled fairly true, and given a little time should be great. Because of the coronavirus, each player had his own cart. While we were disappointed that we couldn't play the back nine, overall we had a very enjoyable and safe round.
Good local course
Enjoy this course for its challenging holes but the greens are in rough condition and desperately need attention. Great staff ... I look forward to returning later in the season and hopefully better greens.
