Augustine Golf Club
About
Carved from Stafford County's rolling, emerald green hills, Augustine Golf Club plays across a scenic landscape abundant with mature pines and hardwoods. The pristine white bunkers and the lush fairways contrast nicely with the trees. The course conveniently sits just 30 miles from the Washington Beltway. In 2011 when the golf course was acquired by Raspberry Golf Management, who are responsible for several courses in the area, Augustine underwent major renovations that increased its playability. The greens, fairways, rough, bunkers, and tee boxes were all redone. The layout offers a challenge but is gentle enough for beginners to approach with confidence. Included in a round of golf at Augustine are range balls and unlimited use of the driving range, which has different targets and a large putting green.

Nice course
Gorgeous course. Nice practice facilities. Very friendly and helpful staff. Only thing I didn't like was there was no bathrooms, water, or ball cleaners out on the course.
Augustine in good shape!
Augustine is back at being on of the best courses in Notthern VA
Course was in relatively good shape.
Considering all the recent snow, they kept the course up. Greens somewhat bumpy in places, but overall putts rolled pretty true. Bunkers were well dressed, and very little water on the course. Cart path only was restricted on only 2 holes.
Above average - considering the past weather
Considering the snow, the cold weather , the time of the year and the rain, the course was in good shape. It was cart path only but that was not an issue. The drainage was good and the wet spots were minimized. The greens require some work but again, considering the time of the year, they were not bad.
I would play the course again and would recommend it to friends.
Nice Course
Nice course - friendly staff - free range balls - free course booklet. Doesn't get much better.
The Slowest Greens I've Ever Putted on.....
Being a member of a country club I understand that when I go and play a public course that the greens may not be as pure or in as good of shape as the greens at my home course. With that being said, most of the greens on public courses that I have played have been pretty good. I played yesterday at Augustine and while the greens were bumpy and a bit damaged, that was to be expected because of the winter conditions, I get that. I had read recent reviews about Augustine and people said the greens were slow. I had no idea that they were going to be this slow though. They were the slowest that I have ever putted on and when you combine that with the fact that they were really bumpy and ball marks all over the place, it was a bit too much. Again I understand that this is a public course and all but other public courses in the area have much better greens. I liked the layout of the course very much as it was my first time there but I am not sure that I will be back, especially when the greens are so poor and so slow.
greens was way to slow
the course was in great shape but needs more sand in the traps had fabric showing on alots of the traps. And the greens was super slow
Excellent course for the cost.
Outstanding layout with some challenging holes. A couple of the greens are "relatively" new and not as pristine as the rest. However, they still rolled well.
They are working on it.
The layout is good but the work they are doing made playing a little problem. They have spread sand over most of the fairways and all of the greens, enough so that you need to clean you club after every shot, even between puts. The uneven spread of sand on the greens make a true role and speed on each green and between greens vary greatly. The price was OK for this course but I wouldn't pay even close to their normal price per round. I would recommend this course but only for the discount rate.
The course is in great shape, which made this round of golf a lot of fun.
Enjoyed playing this course, it is in great shape. Greens are a bit slow, but are in great shape. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Solid Course
Solid Course, friendly staff. Not crowed on the Saturday that I played
Absolutely amazing from tee to green
Played this course last Wednesday 9/25/13.
8:20am tee time. Played as a twosome and we finished in 3 1/2 hours.
The course is in pristine condition. From tee to green i have no complaints at all. Very scenic course with lots of trees and nice elevation changes.
Grass tee driving range is nice. I like the ability to hit driver and woods at the range. This course only allows irons on the range.
One of the nicest courses I've played this entire season.
New management company did an incredible job bringing this course back to life. This course is an hour drive for me but it's worth the drive and prices are cheaper than all of the nicer NOVA courses.
Huge Disappointment
When I first played this course in 2004 I remember it being in Excellent condition. Perhaps my memory is faulted, or my standards in courses has changed, but it has gone way downhill. Still one of the more interesting layouts in the area, but the greens were quite a letdown. Most were shaggy as a bad 70's carpet, bumpy and filled with bare spots. The tees were a sad mix of grass and weed. The fairways were still very nice but my true mark of a course is the quality of the greens and this course needs some real work. Won't be going back unless there's a significant change in conditions.
Ranger actually told us to slow down pace of play.
Had the first tee time off and as a threesome figured we would be done in about 3 hours. It wasn't until after I arrived and was ready to tee off that we were told by a ranger to not play too fast as they were putting out a shotgun an hour after we teed off that would occupy holes 6-18. Sure enough once we got done with the 5th hole, there were two groups on the 6th tee box and we waited on every single shot for the next 3.5 hours.
Would have been nice to know ahead of time.
Got a great deal on the tee time but sometimes the time and pace of play is more valuable. That cost them a star
Excellent course
First time I have played this course. It was in great shape physically and offers up some challenging shots. Staff there was very friendly and helpful.
Well Maintained
The course is in good shape and the staff is wonderful. I play this course several times a month and have never had a bad experience. You are notified in advance when any work is being done on the greens and the food at the turn is good.
Beautiful, Challenging and Well Maintained Course, Helpful and Friendly Staff
Absolutely fantastic experience. The renovations are incredible, the staff is friendly and the course is extremely well maintained. By far one of the best values in the area - I would recommend this course to anyone.
Augustine is back!
I had heard that Augustine is recovering nicely from the previous owner's neglect and I wanted to check it out, and I was more than pleased at what I found. Good layout, with a mix of length and precision off the tee. Super friendly staff and done in less than 3 1/2 hours(we were a 2-some). Very enjoyable round, I'll be back soon
This course has great features
OveraScenery was good and servicell a nice green a little unwell course
Course is in great shape and facilities are excellent
This course has rapidly returned to its previous status as one of the must play courses in the Northern Virginia area.
