Maderas Golf Club

fast large challenging greens, great terrain changes, yardages for all handicaps were available. the grass on the fairways was thin and in great condition for the season. numerous fairway and greenside bunkers were all in great condition. Beautiful clubhouse and 19th hole after the round too.

Played the course twice. Great layout and lots of elevation. Greens are big and really fast with lots of undelations. Played Steel Canyon and their greens were 11.5. The greens at Maderas were faster. A must play golf course.

Based on player reviews we chose Maderas for a weekend round. We were not disappointed. The conditions, even in winter, were excellent. The greens were very fast, but true and in great shape. The layout was very interesting, with many elevation changes, and a strong variety of shorter and longer holes. The only drawback was the GPS on the cart was not working, but we did switch it out at the turn.There was a very slow group in front of us, but the marshals did a fine job in keeping them moving.

Beautiful. Challenging. Kick your b——- greens. Bring your brain not your ego. Must play. Worth the $.

The course is one of the most well maintained in San Diego. When you can find a tee time that is affordable, I strongly recommend it.

I was debating between four courses for my one round of golf in the San Diego area and I certainly made the right choice. I was lucky enough to get paired with a member who was a really great guy, which made the experience even better. The course was in very good condition, greens were quick and rolled consistently. The difficulties at this course is getting off the tee as optically the shot look more difficult than they are and the area around the greens is tightly mown. I was a little surprised at the lack of pushing people along by the rangers and that the course allowed t-shorts on the course but other than that it was a great experience. If you only have time for one round in the SD area I would certainly recommend this course.

I'm still a newer golfer sticking to cheap rounds to get my reps in. I appreciate the local public courses, but Maderas is something special. The course is so pretty and fun that it seemed to help me focus more on my game. Shot my best ever round!

Awesome views beautiful landscape and water features immaculate playing and very friendly staff make this a must play when you in the area.

Really enjoyed the layout through canyons. Several holes with tight driving areas ... gotta keep tee shots in play. Greens were in great shape - even after some rains that resulted in cart path only. Would definitely play again.

The course condition was good and especially the green was perfect!!

One of the best local courses around San Diego; conditions always perfect. The staff and amenities are impeccable. Hilly course but very fair if you play off appropriate tees.
